Me and my friends won't play until Demonhost is gone or changed

Nah, up to 5 of them per mission is absurd.

They’re a fun addition and we enjoyed the challenge of killing one in damnation but I’d like for them to be a fixed amount and spawn in advance. Our run got borked because a second one spawned right in front if us. No light effects, no sound, nothing. I simply bumped into it in pitch black darkness and all of a sudden things went haywire.
I mean it would have been somewhat lore accurate to get blown the f out like that but it doesn’t make for fun gameplay.

People will just learn to deal with it, it’s a typical knee-jerk reaction to new challenge.

I’ve killed 3 of these already… I do understand it can be difficult first few times… but it is very easy to dodge, easy to block… donno what the complaint is

my friends and I*

I normally PUG and dealing with these with random players have sapped my will to play. Which sucks because I really like the visuals of Lights Out. Even when you can get them to bypass one without triggering it, they’ll inevitably trigger one of the other 3-4 on the map.

Was told there was a minor update server side and to check again.
Seems they were telling the truth and are at least spawning in the intended levels now with the power outages.
I don’t know if any balance tweaks were done to the fight mechanics but I’m glad they aren’t turning up every mission like when they first dropped.

They seem the same, multiple hosts per lights out map.

They are probably the same in lights out then.
To clarify they stopped them spawning in ALL maps like they were when they first got added.

Not saying they don’t still need tweaking, just glad you can play while choosing not to do those missions with more casual friends/randos.

They are indeed a bit to gnarly.
Me and my friends made sure to always bring a Thunder Hammer ever since these horrors showed up as one with the correct setup can 3-shot a Demonhost on Malice, this ofc only works if the TH user is the only one not targeted…

It sadly locks the Zealot with a overall pretty ā€˜meh’ weapon (when you launch a secondary target 5-meters with cleaveing heavy attacks you expect them to take more then 20 damage, and the base attacks are utter garbage against pretty much all targets).

Use a Ogryn with a shield to aggro the boy. Use the special ā€œattackā€ with the shield so it gets ā€œstuckā€ in the floor. The Daemonhost will attack it non-stop and Ogryn won’t even lose stamina, will just be pushed into a wall and thats it. Let the rest of the team eliminate the Daemonhost. We did that more than once, and then we just started run pass the Daemonhost.

The maps have other ways to keep going forward where you can just ā€œignoreā€ the Daemonhost and not aggro it at all. Having a Ogryn with a Shield tanking the boy it made it so easy. But sure they could just nerf it, but then it will not have the same impact. Cheers.

Not arguing on the design of the enemy being a ā€œnot worth itā€, but from constant experience as Tanking DH, I can vouch that DH atm has extreme tunnel vision and will never break off the first target that aggros it until said target is dead. Meaning Shield Ogryn that aggros it is the safest bet if you wanna DH hunt, but it circles back to ā€œWhy even bother?ā€ question. Doing it once is just for the penance alone, and unless there’s some cosmetic reward or loot from killing these buggers, there’s no point other than for making your run even harder than it is. Not to mention that at the end of it all, you have 50% of your health converted because of corruption and there’s no general corruption resistance, only for grimoires.

There actually is general corruption resist, I have it on my Ogryn. Makes a notable difference tanking these. It’s:

Corruption Resist
and
Corruption Resist (Grimoire)

ah crap, really? I gotta get lucky on my roils I only get Corruption Resistance for specifically Grimoires, thanks for the headsup, Fellow Ogryn!

the daemonhost is like the witch from l4d, YOU SNEAK PAST THEM

This boss is really easy if you play it right. Get it attack whoever has a lot of stamina or a shield. I never saw it attack a different target unless the first person dies. Just block and dodge away, whilst the other guys work on him.

Yeah, this was one of my criticisms of Vermintide too. Fighting bosses/monsters should reward more. In fact they could ā€œeasilyā€ add optional boss encounters and weave them into the contracts as an optional assassiantion contract.

sneak past them, lol.

Just avoid it…?
Or don’t play dark missions at all…?

Of course it’s unfair, it’s punishment for not avoiding it successfully.
