[image] This post is the first I’d heard of it. I don’t know if it was mentioned anywhere else. I wonder if it will have active NPCs in it (even if it’s just cosmetically showing them moving and shooting) or -more likely- the trenches will be cleared out for us.

I hope it’s not a VT1 style “hold your ground” map. I really hated those low effort maps. Wish they’d release full missions instead.

Guess I missed it due to being more interested in the River Reik news. Ah well. It’s just nice to see they still remember Operations, if nothing else. At least they won’t go the way of the Special Assignment.

Hopefully, once they get enough Operations, they can make them into their own thing so they aren’t cluttering up the regular mission board.

(Un)fortunately, cluttering the mission board is not a big issue right now. The game still has a distinct lack of missions overall imo. Karnak twins are still our only story boss fight.

KInd of. I think they abandoned the Special Assignment model in their plans quite some time ago. If we had gotten at the very least 2 per year it would have been doable. And if they had stayed playable in a sort of selectable backlog thing. But now we’ll never know what they had planned for that. I…

Moving operations from the main mission page to a separate tab would also mean separating the queues, which wouldn’t be the best.

Great…another “operation” I’m going to play 2 times and never touch again. I spend more time assembling a Havoc party than playing an operation map.

Btw, from what I heard, this operation will not have a timer like the train mission. So it will play just like the normal maps, but it will simply be shorter. How much shorter, I don’t know, but I can take a guess it will not be faster than the train operation.
