Lobby confusion

I’ll probably look stupid saying this but I have competed all 4 classes to level 30 and pretty much reached a ceiling for weapon stats… Yet I still have no idea how the lobby system works beyond quick play.

If I have found a good group in a game then I have no idea how to ask them to another or how to find them again.

I was once invited to a strike team which I accepted but then I just landed back at the hub and had no idea what I was meant to do to join them again.

There is zero info for this stuff. Info text is sorely needed in many parts of the UI imo. Just a simple text box that explains the functions, that’s all that’s needed. Nothing fancy.

Same with weapons and trinkets. Why is it not explained in text that you can modify weapons only twice? It took me ages and lots of confusion before I understood what was happening and why things were getting locked.

Trickets - I have a few but it doesn’t tell me how I got them. Again, simple text box explaining how I unclokced them would be ace.

Absolutely love this game, so just some constructive crit. Much of the UI is confusing and could be so easily helped with simple textbox descriptions.

There are a couple of ways you can play with the same players, this might be different for Xbox.
So when a mission ends, it says in the lower part of the screen to either the left or the right “Press E to merge groups” or something like that. Though it’s extremely rare that people use it.

After you’ve left the end mission and end up on hub, you can press ESC, Social > Previous Mission and you should get the players you played with last. From there you can invite them to your group or add to friends.

If you get invited, and you accept, you’ll end up on the Hub in a group. You’ll see them in your lower left. You or them can then start a new mission, just as normal, and everyone else will get a notification if they want to accept said mission.

I was a bit confused with the locking mechanisms of the crafting at first, but that’s just something you learn over time. Would it have been better if they had some sort of “Codex” where you can read about it? Yep. But there isn’t. :stuck_out_tongue:

You can get trinkets from random mission rewards, or just camp the Armory. You can also change the stats of your trinkets to give you a higher chance to get trinkets instead of weapons as mission reward. Not sure how used that is. I’ve always just done it via Armory.

Ah thanks, now I know RE the lobby system.

Trinkets are different to curios btw. I’m talking about trinkets cosmetics specifically that are rewarded for penances or purchased.

The lack of any tool tips is pretty bizarre. It’s not like it’s the 90s and the game comes with an instruction manual :joy:

Sorry I was confused if you meant Curios or not. I’ve played a lot of MMORPGs in my days so “trinket” is the basic “additional stats item”. :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah, a lot of games are very lacking in basic information. Like there are two blessings, they are named the same, but on different weapons they do different things. And one of the things it does is called “Impact”, which I believe is the same as Stagger, but instead of saying Stagger, they call it Impact for that blessing. Which has confused a lot of players.

I heard once in one games forums that this is because, not even the developers are fully aware of what things do at times. Or how they work. Not saying this is the case with Darktide, but it would be understandable that someone who adds descriptions to things, doesn’t always know exactly what it does.

I’ve always thought that any game developed, should also develop their own game wiki page where they add in-depth descriptions of mechanics, math etc of how things work. Very few games does this, but I’ve seen it.
