Listen to the players

I figured since this whole development span is so ridiculous, might as well make myself a laughing stock as well whilst singing and crying about the matter for you. Just trying to spice up the forums for better or worse. Greetings from not a professional singer by any stretch.

Waiting in anticipation for the next major update.

First off, you’ve got a great voice and that was enjoyable to listen to. The lyrical timing with the beat of the song was very smooth and well done.

That said, I don’t think it’s accurate to say FS doesn’t listen to the community, nor do I think it’s productive to call the devs lazy.

Could there be better communication? Sure, there’s always room for improvement but communication certainly has improved since launch of Darktide.

Perhaps a monthly post from @FatsharkStrawhat Strawhat, pinned to the general Discussion Board in Darktide with a top 10 list of things the Devs are focusing on - so players could more easily appreciate the Dev team’s efforts - would help alleviate tenions on the forum.

Sometimes for larger tasks it’s not easy to give a specific timeframe, but at least players would be able to see what things are being focused on.

Just a few quick notable examples of player feedback the dev team has responded to and changed for the better:

I. Crafting at Hadron’s Casino was abhorent at launch, now it’s significantly better.

II. Talent trees have come a long way since launch and now there’s an abundance of build options across all classes. There is an argument to be made that some talents need balance adjustments for sure, but credit where credit is due Talent Trees today vs launch are much better.

III. Brunt’s shop used to be a nightmare to visit, with so many similar weapons to choose from and not a lot of explanation on the differences between all the weapons available to purchase in his store.
Weapon inventory was also atrocious and unnecessarily bloated, it made inventory organization a nightmare.

Since then, weapons have been consolidated into marks, favourites are able to be saved and player weapon inventory is much more streamlined.

So again, it’s good that players post feedback and care enough about Darktide to have regular discussions around things that could be improved on. But it’s counterproductive to make the Forum into a forum users vs. Dev team environment.

That’s just my two cents.

Haha thank you!

This song is just a banter song I made on a hunch, thrown in a general direction that one can take seriously or not - I certainly didn’t.

I think you are making some really good points here and I completely agree with you!
I have played this game since launch and have experienced all the ups and downs along the way.

I genuinely wish for this game to become the best version of itself, and hope Fatshark will continue to develop and improve the game in the future. It is one of my favourite games of all time, which is probably why I also have so strong opinions about it. But ultimately as you mention, users vs dev environment is not healthy for anyone!

Cheers and praise The Emperor! :victory_hand:

What tool you used for this?

Wanted to do something like that (to post here :p) and tried Sora… Before chatgpt tell me that he can’t generate sound

I wonder when most players will understand that their passion is one sided, and should fade, to avoid the crash of a heartbreak.

FS ignores your input, updates the game at the most ridiculous pace, in directions no sane player desires, and has moved on to a new IP.
They have decided to slowly milk you with skins while they prepare for another rugpull with their unannounced game.

Stop coping, find another co-op game.

Well. I sort of have. I am mainly playing Helldivers 2 now and have been for half a year. I am revisiting Darktide whenever there is an update just to see how things are going, but I am not spending much time playing the game anymore.

I wish I would find something that had these features:

  • solo and coop
  • melee and ranged weapons
  • interesting fps combat
  • replayability

I have tested a lot of games (and lost money in the process). But there is nothing enough good to play as coop. As solo I have several games to finish.

I wait for dune. It is TPS, solo and coop, even pvp… Don’t know if combat will be good enough, I hope. I like also TPS anyways.
But you have to admit the darktide gameplay is addictive. Sadly…
I dream of a similar game of the tide genre. And I don’t care it is not in warhammer universe.

Hd2 has no real melee combat. But the game is great
What i appreciate a lot in the game, is this feeling you’re taking part of a gigantic conflict.
Also, the game has incredible effects.

But in it you die it does not matter… Not the stress you can find in darktide and that makes the addictive part of this game.

Haha cool! I would love to hear what you are planning!

I am using a sE Electronics Dynacaster through a Warm Audio WA12 MkII pre-amp + Golden Age Audio EQ-73 Premier + FMR Audio PBC-6A compressor through the DAW Mixcraft 10 Pro Studio.

Doing full audio mix and mastering with several industry standard plug-ins through that DAW, so no AI tools used at all. Expensive hobby :smiling_face_with_tear: :joy:

no, f the players, they should have kept going with their own projects from the start

Lawl that is probably the most interesting way to critique Fatshark they probably will enjoy it too.

The crafting rework, sacrifice system, ogryn buffs, havoc rank changes, and so much more proves this just isn’t true.

They said from the start that updates would be quarterly, and they keep delivering content for free 2.5 years later. Still updating VT2 after 7 years. Definitely the masters of the rugpull!

…okay this is the funniest response I’ve seen so far to this game and Fatshark’s…Fatshark-ness.

Took the better part of two years for them to finally bend, with changes beforehand being marginal lipstick on a pig at best.
