I have to spend my own time leveling up a new class again, and ruin my experience with several hours of dull grinding on boring difficulty levels?
What’s the problem with immediately giving level 30 to those who have spent a lot of time in the game?

muh story and cutscenes
And yeah I agree I’m kinda more interested in the usual Big Pack of Balance Changes and would like to see those and the new class. Unfortunately there’s like 4+ hours of yuck gameplay sprinting to the finish rushing low level players to ‘progress’ to do.
Zero interest in doing the boring speedrun grind yet again. We didn’t have this problem in Vermintide 2, this sucks.
You can get to Auric faster with the new patch if you have 2 characters already 30+ and also winstreaks increase the rate you get to the next difficulty. Not perfect but it’s an improvement.
Not looking forward to it but I have low level friends and it gives me an excuse to play with them too.
I did post about that yesterday too. I hate it.
It should be a choice for old players with already existing lvl 30 characters, who wants can start from lvl 1,who don’t from 30.
Darktide is my 4th online game, in last one 7 years ago, while there was no way to create Max lvl characters, but there was legacy system, affecting whole account which players could lvl up, including boosting xp and movement speed on map, among other mmo stuff which with knowledge allowed extremely fast leveling,
In darktide there’s not much older players can do to speed run, especially weighted by new ones, who can’t run past hordes and whatever else. I remember, when I was leveling up arbites, guys didn’t know what direction to go even with markers. That’s also fatshark fault, when I was new, some maps confused me.
Another win for having actual characters ala Vermintide rather than the blank slates we got in Darktide.
Didn’t need to level up Bardin 4 times just to play with all the fun toys.
Just have double exp weekends or something like that.
when arby came out, i posted on reddit that i’d pay extra to have my character at 30 already so i won’t have to speedrun malice. and got downvoted massively for whatever reason, because no one was given.
threads where newbies ask “i’ve reached level 30, what can i play now?” are cute tbh, but when someone has already a few thousand levels combined under the belt, it feels like being sent back to elementary school.
I can’t say for all down votes, but I would do it for saying that you pay for it, because it should be free of charge quality of life feature.
At least they let us speedrun weapon level ups. Better than nothing.
It’s incredibly boring. Damn whoever did this.
I just popped in here to write exactly the same post. @FatsharkQuickpaw this has been raised before, It is obviously a “bit” too late to address this now, but players with hundreds or more hours in the game aren’t interested in wasting time levelling up on tutorial difficulties. Just let us playing at the difficulties we like. Something to consider in the future?
Devs who choose not to do substantial content updates for existing classes or challenges when they launch a new class are so strange to me. Why do they want the player experience to be 3-4 of the new class in every match for hours at a time, for weeks if not months?
It’s going to be so boring playing with nothing but Gangers. At least with Arbites there was a bit of novelty and humor with the bugged, overpowered dogs. This is just going to be four knife Zealots running ahead every match.
How?
Buy whites > upgrade to greens > sacrifice > profit
Oh I thought he meant they added something else.
I mean it’s tedious AF.
I’ve bought and individually consecrated about 150 shivs and only 3/4 of the way through the bloody EXP levels ![]()
Having to click each one and hit back twice and then ESC then do it all over again for each weapon is like pulling teeth.
Why not just have a button that maxes it out and takes the same amount of money and resources from your account? Why do I have to sacrifice like this? I hate it.
Immeasurably complex
And throw a totally unprepared person into Damnation or Auric whom have not even learnt the basics of the class.
I’ll pass.
You may very well be right for OP (and likely some subset of people who say this), but it is an issue.
It was not fun on space cop after the initial novelty of personal growth wore off.
And it is a contributing factor to my decision to purchase future classes I’m actually interested in if they don’t improve the system at all by then.
I’d rather not spend money to push past a snooze-fest of walking sim level missions to get back to how I like to play the game.
I still maintain gear score should be a/the gating mechanism as it most readily favors long-time players since new rejects wont have the requisite coffers of currency. Not perfect, but better imo.
