Latejoins sometimes aren't assigned colors

Whenever I join a game, or someone else joins my game, sometimes the game fails to assign them a color. This means on the team display at the bottom left of the screen, their class icon is black, while pings and the class icon above their heads shows as green (but a different color than the usual green).

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

Unsure why it happens, it was happening to me before I started using mods. This issue never occurs at the beginning of a mission - only when someone joins a mission in progress.
