Lag, Rubberbanding Noreg, and Missed Inputs in all Games

Issue Description:

In every run a large but inconsistent amount of my attacks don’t register. Occasionally it also won’t register inputs when doing actions, especially weapon switching. Enemy attacks will often range from hard to nearly impossible to dodge. Instant attacks may or may not have sound cues, there’s no consistent pattern here. Enemy wave spawns will feel as though every enemy was spawned on top of me and the team. It is harder to notice and immediately react to than the usual intentional close enemy spawns that the director sometimes uses. While moving enemies can look like they’re teleporting or even rubberbanding at times. Fire can lead to instant deaths or can be hard to avoid depending how severe the issue is in a given game. Noticeable lag and/or stuttering is only present if I’m about to disconnect or CTD. Some rubberbanding only occurs in games where I’m likely to experience one or multiple disconnects. Overall, games can often feel like I’m desynced with the rest of the team by 0.5 to 2 full seconds. All these issues either occur individually in isolation, in combinations or even all at the same time.

This issue(s) has been present since release, but only mildly. It’s been worsening since the summer, and after the recent major updates the game is not playable during the evenings and nights, and barely so during noons and afternoons.

Attempted Solutions:

  • Double checked firewall exceptions
  • Flushed DNS
  • Set my DNS to Google DNS
  • Reset my router
  • Changed my Ethernet cable
  • Turned off the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters on my PC
  • Checked for relevant driver and windows updates
  • Lowered my graphics settings
  • Tried to play both on and off a VPN connection
  • Set Steam to always provide my IP address
  • Verified the integrity of the install on steam
  • Set the game .exe to run as admin

The only thing that seems to alleviate but not remedy the problem is simply playing the game in the early morning or noon.

It’s disappointing that over a year later they still haven’t said a word about this.

I guess the servers are just extremely borked.

I had no problem running the game prior the latest patch but now it’s often just a sh*tshow with extreme lags.
Enemies running in one spot not getting damage, if they are climbing they climb endlessly, getting no hitmarkers but blood splatter or getting hitmarkers but dealing no damage.

It’s literally unplayable for me sometimes.

agree with the server part, every other update my i7-13700k 4080 and 32 gb struggles with the elevator opening part of the hourglass map.

seems like servers are having a hard part keeping enemies not yet rendered from being taken into account first half of the map.

once you pass a certain point no matter the amount on screen its smooth sailings.

only that map too which i find quite odd
