AMD Frame Generation stopped working after the new version update
Performance
Steam overlay indicates frame gen is active for a brief moment when switching between windowed mode and fullscreen (and toggling other graphics settings such as vsync), but otherwise it does not work at all during gameplay both with and without mods.
AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation is enabled via the launcher, in-game settings, and AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\user_settings.config. This previously worked fine w/ DLSS upscaling on a NVIDIA RTX 3070 8GB.
I have encountered 2 other players experiencing similar issues. Not sure if hardware-specific.
Yes, and I’ve tried disabling them
Constant (100%)

Can confirm I’ve gone through the motions of trying to figure out what is going on and behind it all had the suspicion that frame generation just isn’t working.
I was running every match at 85 fps with only slight dips at certain points. Now I’m entering maps at 70ish fps and dropping all the way down to 40 fps with hordes.
Edit: Things I tried to no avail. Deleting shader cache step by step, disabling mods, turning frame generation off and on with restarts multiple times, tried every other graphic option, and removing user_settings.config to generate a new one.
Same with me, FatShark screwed up again ![]()
I’m also having the same problem with framegen that was working just before the update and now is not working after the update. Nvidia card, mods disabled, settings reset…no difference.
GPU model in use: Geforce RTX 3070 TI 8GB
I have some frame rate drops in expeditions and mourning star on RX9070XT. Before the patch Mourning Star was solid 180-200 fps, now it’s 140-170 fps. Still haven’t played normal missions to compare framerate to before the patch.
Beyond the hive update has completely broken AMD FSR frame generation.
Previously I was getting a stable 165 fps, now it stutters and drops to as low as 90 fps

my gpu:RX6700XT
RTX 2060 super
RX 6600M, i have stutters even though i disabled frame gen and deleted adrenaline.
FSR is not working whatsoever. at. all.
Insanity.
9070 XT
For those unaware, steam FPS counter would say FSR instead FPS if it would be active.
Getting 40-50 FPS on a 9700X with a 9070 XT at 1440p is nothing short of insanity.
I’ve been playing this game for 6000 hours but this is beyond a joke at this point.
No frame gen here either.
RX 7900XTX
Pretty significant stuttering that did not exist before the update, as well.
Intel i5 14600k, Asrock Radeon AMD RX 9070XT Steel Legend and iiyama GCB3481 (185Hz refresh rate monitor).
I have framerate in Mourning Star 130-160 fps (~190 fps before patch with drops to ~180fps), Expeditions 150 fps with drops even to 70 fps, and normal missions 130-150 fps (~180 fps before patch with drops to 150 fps).
Also I am experiencing stutters at random.
Same issue: RTX 3080
RTX 3080. No frame gen, FSR has disappeared from Steam FPS counter
Same issue: GTX 1660
Same issue: 3060 laptop
