Khazukan kazakit-ha! A hookrat spawned in front of me ending the game

I was the last one alive about to finish the game and as im running towards the portal right as i get within 5-10m of it a hookrat spawns between me and the portal and with no animation grabs me ending the game.

Why are the 3 new maps so bad when it comes to special spawn placement? Its ridiculous.

There are specials appearing out of thin air on the mountain too.
