Just as a note, premium cosmetics cannot be refunded. Add it to the list why this horrid shop system is anti-consumer

I would love for players to have this option.

Which perhaps sounds odd coming from me, because I wrote the article. But I hope people can understand I don’t make these decisions.

I will always advocate this option internally.

That’s normal, not a big deal.

I appreciate you coming onto here - I know that you’re not the one coming up with policies - just the ones putting them out there. I hope my quoting of the article didn’t come off as me blaming you particularly.

Do you know if lack of refunds is an intentional decision or one limited by difficulty of implementation? Because as much as obviously I know that you don’t want players to have a bad time, I’m still stuck dissatisfied with my purchase due to a low quality product. I have no guarantee that the paid cosmetic will be fixed, nor that future ones won’t be broken as well - so why would I ever choose to pay more money for them in the future?

If this is a one-off, okay I can accept that but since I haven’t been made right about the situation (or even my post about this being obviously broken aknowledged as a bug in my bug report) then I just have no faith in the system and will not participate in it in the future - nor encourage others to as well.

incredible how people think norm = my condoning it

most games do it, so it is the norm.

Well, I do agree that Microtransactions should be sort of micro.
More of them, but less for each individual piece.

I never understood why the pricing is usually something like 15$-20$ for a full set, some games take even more such as 40$ to 50$ for one piece of equipment.
Darktide is still one of the better ones when it comes to that, but yeah the Vermintide 1 and 2 prices were fair. 2-4 bucks for a hat or single piece of armor.

Good thing you’re here to keep us grounded on the current state of gaming.

So, my morbid curiosity took over - I had some remaining aquillas so I got the jacket & pants for the veteran…and as it turns out, it changes the female body into a male body type. So this is broken too.

Lmao this is just comical at this point how bad these are and clearly not tested. It makes the female head look so tiny because they just applied the male body proportions to the cosmetic. The Shoulders are HUGE in comparison, taller, wider and broader by a significant margin. I can accept that the armour increases the torso thickness, but armour like that doesn’t magically broaden and increase the size of your shoulders like that.

Again…this costs actual money. Fatshark are you serious? 2 “premium” cosmetics now are poorly implemented. I submitted this as a bug report as well because I hope that this is actually just a bug because the pants keep the lower body proportions correctly.

Not the norm most of us here or at least I mean.

True, what you say is:
“[Norm] If you say that a situation is the norm, you mean that it is usual and expected.”
It is to be expected in modern games, yes, I second this.

What I mean:
“Norms are ways of behaving that are considered normal in a particular society.” and
“A norm is an official standard or level that organizations are expected to reach.”

But, last time I checked it is not the norm or even accepted in the society to take advantage of others and pressure them in disadvantages systems (in some countries such things are even outlawed! (see below)).
Even more, dark patterns are per definition malicious and deceiving design patterns, they have no other use other than being mean - they are NO OFFICIAL STANDARD a organisation, here Fatshark, should be tolerated to operate on.

Further, at least in Europe it is for Online Platforms forbidden by law to use designs which are misleading and manipulative (also called dark patterns).
And while Fatshark/ Darktide is no “online platform” per se, they belong in the area affected by the Digital Service Act and should orient themself at it.
Even if not, they have to fulfil the General Data Protection Regulation which speaks against such systems.

So, no illegal activity is not the norm.

While I see it like you and would be disappointed too by the result how my operative looks, coming from the real world it looks rather fitting.
What I mean: If I put on my body armour and add a jacket (what one normally doesn’t do, but, yeah weather) it looks strikingly similar.

Still, it is a game and I want a cool and fitting looking jacket and no sex change! (Especially as paid content!)
(This is not meant in any way against people who want another gender or similar!)

That there is some proper quality control. Hahah.

feeling pretty bitter, went to buy cosmetics for the first time, and wanted one bundle (only got a piece) and one piece (got the bundle). Needless to say, I got burned super badly. It was like the shop did that to me on purpose…
