Just a Fleshwound Penance Questions

I’m wondering if it’s possible to achieve the zealot penance “Just a Fleshwound” via quickplay, or if I have to select a specific Heresy+ mission on the map. Also, sometimes even when I select a “new” mission (not quickplay) I’m still sent to a group that’s already begun. Does this also void the possibility of getting “Just a Fleshwound”?

I know they changed it to say “complete a full mission” because of that initial loophole that would allow you to die and get it, but I’ve completed this penance several times now and haven’t got the credit - something I’m doing is voiding it.

I believe you have to be present from at least the opening cutscene that shows your group walking forward before you actually gain control of your character. At least, that’s what let me get Just a Flesh Wound and the mission grind required for Flawless Execution 3.

I completed it on low intensity Hab Dreyko. Just get down to that HP right at the start, use the feat that heals you up when you defy death, then take whatever damage you need to to get back down. The mission itself is usually fast, but if you tell the pubs you’d like to speedrun they might help you out and rush with you. I did it without asking and eventually just got a group that did it quickly.

You’ll need specific maps and conditions to do this, so quickplay probably won’t work. You’ll have to select specific maps and conditions. Things that slow down the mission, like high intensity, hunting grounds, etc, are obvious no gos. Likewise a lot of maps take too long, so you’ll have to find ones that run quicker than others. Hab Dreyko was my pick of choice, but I’m sure there are other options.

  • no curios for additional wounds (fewer wounds = more hp when below 1 wound)
  • use Holy Revenant feat (hp regen for dmg dealt during invulnerability period)

If you are confident in your skill, get yourself downed until 1 wound remains free of corruption. Then take a tiny bit of extra corruption (hound, trapper, stinky trash mobs) so that your white health is limited to less than 1 wound.
Heal yourself only with medpacks and your selfheal feat.
Unless you clear the corruption with a med station, or die and respawn, your health will always be low enough and you do not have to think about it for the duration of the mission.

If you expect to get downed once in a while, take damage until below 1 wound, but do not purposely lock yourself at low hp by using corruption.
This way, you are less likely to get completely killed, but you have to pay attention to your health and make sure that it is low enough for most of the time.

I didn’t even think about the wound curios. I’m glad you pointed it out, it didn’t even occur to me.

I’ve helped already with that penance both in quickplay and organzied groups and @Flawless basically sums it up.

We had best times on low-intensity scanning (especially that mission with the huge tree at the end and multiple scanning tasks) and raid missions (load special ammo into container).

Team composition does not matter that much, as long as everybody plays along and just speedruns the map. I can imagine, that four zealots would be a blast!

As people have said, no wound curios, stay below 1 as much as possible, and pick a low intensity mission, killing enemies is what wastes the most amount of time.
Also preferably a mission without any timed events, like dreyko or assassination, that way it can be rushed.
Finishing in 20 minutes is the hardest part.

I completed it on low int damnation magistrati oubliet. I would have completed it recently on hi-int shock troop gauntlet hab draco. That map is bugged or something. Had almost 0 enemies. You need to be present at the start. If youre not it doesn’t count.
