If you haven’t listened to it out of game, do it now for the full experience:
Absolutely phenomenal work. Easily one of, if not my favorite tracks in the game. He has brought out the feeling of 40k in music I felt really hasn’t been achieved before.
I especially love how at the end, a modified and muffled version of Immortal Imperium kicks in.
I think Kyd has turned to Tzeentch and started huffing warp dust, because I don’t know how he comes up with the music for this game but it gets weirder with every new track added (and I like it).
Really hope Darktide gets acknowledged for it’s phenomenal soundtrack. Kyd definitely deserves it.
P.S. Are we just going to call this song “The Traitor Curse” like we did for Rejects Rise? Since I think the twins boss theme can just be called the twins boss theme.
Same here, although I did also put Darktide down for the have fun dying or whatever the difficulty award was. I think those 2 emphasize everything that I love about Darktide the most.
Now if only the crafting wasn’t gachafied ass, and the netcode actually worked well enough to make sure i had decent latency at all hours of the day with minimal disconnects this game wouldn’t make me feel like a battered housewife constantly muttering “i can change him” to herself like it was a mantra every night.
Jesper Kyd indeed does it again. I’m just baffled how fatshark can have such talent on one side (music, locations and voice acting) but also getting some stuff dead wrong (the whole chain weapons not feeling properly because of bonk and evis actually not being an evis but a heavy chainsword).
And also yeah, the crafting.
I’m sorry, but isnt nightwish like a completely different genre? I mean, yeah, they use choir because that’s what symphonic metal usually has, but come on. It’s like saying that darktide and cod are similar games because they have guns and you can shoot them.
(Also check out Epica if you’re into symphonic metal and somehow havent found the band yet)
