It has been 3 months since the last content update. What is going on over there?

CMS still just say ‘something’ is happening
Nothing specific just something

No word on when or what, but will fatshark ever realise several months on end with no communication or anything is detrimental to running a game with a rotating shop for its main repetitive income. Like they’re a business right like making money is literally why they exist why are they so obtuse at doing extremely simple things that reinforce making more money.

Fatshark people are legitimately wondering if you’ve abandoned the game in its second year because you don’t do or say anything for 3 months is poor business strategy, how hard is it to realise that people actually thinking your game is dead because you’ve literally made ZERO effort to do anything to the contrary is poor running of a service is not something to strive for.

Seriously what kind of horrific organisation do you have that the mentality of oh we only came back a month ago that’s not enough time to say words publicly is allowed to form as a legitimate thought process with your staff and especially your community managers.

Is that critical thinking you’re doing? To highlight obvious shortcomings of a major company and organisation with the means to do better, no less?

Not 'round here partner. Not 'round here. Now buy a f*cking clown suit for multiple dollars and take this 318 lasgun with 2 tier 3 blessings and 2 tier 2 perks and shut your text gob.

It’s funny because if anyone looks at the discourse on these forums (while occasionally a little unhinged and exaggerated, and definitely misconstrued due to lack of communication)… it’s still fairly benign and reasonable-- particularly given how frustrated people are with the familiar silence over and over again.

Can you imagine if even just a fraction of the Helldivers 2 community were in here? It would be bedlam within minutes of a hotfix announcement listing the 3 things they tried to fix while breaking a dozen more.

I think it’s always like this on forums. Forum as a type of site works as a natural philter. It’s either very dedicated for Tide games people here or boomers who still remember the golden age of gaming.

as someone who has played V1 and V2 religiously since their releases, the answer is no. they are notorious for doing the opposite of what we want done and even more notorious for straight up disappearing like my dad did 28 years ago.

The HD2 community lost their minds over a single weapon nerf.

We’d be hearing news reports of spontaneous aneurysms across the world if we exposed them to Fatshark Development.

Did you realize this is the same sith but drip feeded just to inflate the PR value ?

So? Does having it prepped before hand invalidate its release schedule?

They could have the entire next 10 years of the game’s updates all chilling on their hard drive right now and it wouldn’t alter whatever release schedule they choose to go with.

Stuff is released when it is released. And we’re sitting at 3 months less 3 days.

Reddit is where the completely unhinged go, Discord is just like being in a public protest irl, too many voices screaming.

Did you forget the first power sword nerf?

I actually stopped going to Reddit because of the Darktide subreddit. I never really spent a lot of time there, and then suddenly realized that most of the people are either creating topics or memes for upvotes alone.

Then I started looking at the number of upvotes compared to the traffic on the subreddit and people actually playing the game, and really begin to wonder what the site even is. Plus you can actually have an intellectual argument or questionable opinion here without simply being buried. Varies widely by subreddit though.

As far as the topic, I’ve been steadily moving toward this tide game actually using a more traditional release model, not a live service. Remember that Fatshark is almost 10 years behind, so what we’re live services like back then? Imagine if they called fallout 4 a live service and you pretty much have this game.

Axe or Sword? which do you like? -Catfish…

Same thing happened in 2023 around that time.
It killed the game.
Then the XBOX deal came and “saved the day”
However, an XBOX deal “jailbreak card” can only be played once. There’s no more XBOX deals to make a come back from this

What’s what baffles me

Like what was their plan here

We’ll restore the playerbase with a massive overhaul to skills and progression
Have some updates to follow up from that to hold onto them
And then just sort of forget 2024 exists do nothing and lose all the results of our hard work.

I remember this and I remember it well… those times were nuclear for the DT community

Let’s be real people would’ve been less mad if every power sword worked exactly the same and it didn’t take 200 hours of playing slots to get the Power Cycler blessing.

Less mad? Maybe. Would people have still been shrieking at the top of their lungs and posting “this patch killed the game” threads? Absolutely.

there’s nothing wrong with the playerbase. they’re waiting for the next content drop which is whay happens with games. it’s not like it’s an MMO where you need a bunch of concurrent players to get it working, the matchmaker lets you get by with a tiny handful of players.

What part of
Less players = less money
have you failed to grasp from everyone here
Less money = crappier and less updates, why would they update the game which costs money to do with no meaningful consistent returns from it.

They don’t have a fortnightly updated store with fomo for people to not buy premium funny bucks. The whole game is literally designed around engagement to get as much money as possible from people, just because fatshark are awful at it doesn’t make it any less of the case.

For me I was losing interest in Reddit as a site entirely, then Spez did the dumb and I just stopped using it.
