So, on a basic 4 i loose all three teammates in a hoard, fight it off solo, only to see 3 dogs 2 muties and pack of ragers on top of a boss in the next 30 seconds, is that suppost to be fun for me?
The spawns do not decrease because your teammates have died.
The clutch is literally being able to handle all those enemies with a quarter of the firepower: if you succeed you’re elated, most of the times you are dead.
If you’re referring to the fact that currently there are way too many special and elite spawns, then I agree.
That’s absolutely not true. The Director will lessen the pressure after someone dies even in auric maelstrom. Maybe not immediately, but it happens and it’s very obvious.
i mean, fair enought on that, i mostly just gave up after killing the specialists due to being eaten twice by beast of nurgle. I just feel like clutching twice in a row on 4 is kinda too much to ask of anyone, but if the director does not go easy on a solo player after a wipe, than the situation makes some amount of sence.
Yeah, in that situation it was not obvious…
It happened to me a few times in the past. Based on the disabler train + boss it could easily be “speedrun prevention” getting falsely set off or something similar. I agree that it doesn’t feel great.
overall i feel like i could have clutched that if i didn’t give up, but like, for a 4 it was a little bit two much of an ask i think.
Never seen that happen…
It is very visible during events. After 2-3 people die and the threat is dealt with suddenly there will be no specials spawning and the normal spawns will be highly reduced for a duration. It happens a lot.
Yeah I’ve had that exact thing happen too. It actually infuriates me sometimes as I see it more as the AI director “getting his sacrifices” and being willing to leave us alone for a bit.
I especially hate it when I was the sacrifice, lol.
I would be really curious to see some solid info on how exactly the AI director works, either from Stout Trout themselves or maybe someone who dug into the code a bit. We all have our observations but they vary so wildly it’s hard to arrive at any conclusion.
Had a match where my friend was having to solo. After he cleared the enemies, it threw a chaos ogryn at him… I’m assuming that was put in while the rest of us were still up.
