Is Fatshark company culture the issue?

But there wasn’t a base THP recovery rate in VT2 either. They keep comparing it to VT2 but don’t seem to know how it actually worked in VT2 or are misconstruing the nuances of it.

VT2 also didn’t have packs of enemies that can aimbot you with a machine gun from across the map, taking out your entire toughness bar.

Darktide is very clearly designed around you constantly regenerating/having toughness, feigning ignorance the other way around like you’re doing is even worse. Toughness is the analogue to temp HP but unlike temp HP you pretty much have to have toughness to survive.

Toughness works, most of the time. When it doesn’t, the above happens. Toughness just shouldn’t be linked to coherency like every other shooter. Baseline regeneration is necessary vs ranged enemies. I can be in cover for 8 hours at low health and still have 0 toughness, and that is dumb.

The auras and the enemies are enough to keep people together already.

fatshark are clowns, this is nothing new

Well CoD MW2 is currently losing to Splatoon 3, so there is that.

Beyond that, I’d say that Hedge is right when it comes yo customization. The game doesn’t need to copy-paste whatever popular franchises do, in order to catch their thunder and FatShark has proven with Vermintide 1 and 2 that they can create successful games that fulfill a very particular niche. A niche that no other game has yet to fulfill quite like their Tide games do.

That being said, the cash shop has left a bad taste in my mouth, but monetization in video games is unfortunately part and parcel of the industry by now.

If anything, FatShark should work on making the classes more distinct from one another or at least balance them, so that it isn’t entirely inconsequential what you pick, be it 4 Ogryns or 4 Psykers.
Granted, the 40k universe doesn’t lend itself to classes the same way Fantasy does, with all the various different races, armies and such, so 4 different ones are enough as it is because Guardsmen are pretty much defined by the weapons they carry, with it ranging everywhere from Las muskets to hotshot las guns capable of shooting through carapace armour.

Making skins unlockable through gameplay or through the in-game unlockables, like the Mordian Iron Guard or the Tallarn Desert Warriors outfits would be really cool.

It’s not about copying, it’s about being able to decide to put a flashlight on your gun or a legitimate scope.

I, for one, genuinely like the squad coherency mechanic.
It prevents players from going off on their own to play the hero and in a game lile Darktide where getting pinned down is a very real possibility, it only puts greater emphasis on team play.

I also sincerely hope that the score board stays gone for the same reason. Players are still chasing green circles to this day in VT2 and often getting killed mid game because of it.

Coherency doesnt encourage outflanking, enfilading fire or refused flanks as anyone spreading wider than the ‘main route’ to offer a flank attack loses out on coherency and toughness.

Maybe just a bigger aura area? But this has been argued since 2018 in VT2…

Yeah, I can’t argue that coherency does kind of dictate a certain play style. It doesn’t necessarily prevent playing in alternative ways, but it does make them less feasible.

for non zealots*. 150 hours in before I noticed coherency was actually important and not just a suggestion.

No, it isn’t, quit perpetuating this lie.

You lost, it happens.

I’m not seeing why this is a big issue.

That’s not the problem this clip is meant to show you.

If I played the exact same way with baseline regen I would’ve died anyways because of melee chip damage.

What youre meant to gather from this is my toughness not regenerating at all because of all of my allies being dead.

Id I had some tough regen I would’ve atleast had a fighting chance to turn the game around.

I know, I just think it’s dumb that you’re complaining about the exact reason that was implemented.

Tough luck. :man_shrugging:

Its more of a you issue.

  • I did not read any articles about the game.

  • I do not believe that because a game company makes one type of a game, all there games are going to be exactly the same.

  • I did not buy the game to use the ogryn hammer.

  • I brought nothing to this game other than my ability to click mouse, keyboard, and common sense.

  • I progressed thru the difficulty tiers, rather than queueing for difficulties I was not ready for.

  • I don’t get mad when someone that I am clearly being disrespectful to has had enough and replies in a slightly aggressive manner.

I now have full trascendent gear, with almost all the stats I want, and I am enjoying the game a lot, playing at heresy for fun, damnation for challenge.

Solo clutch is fun. Skill ceiling being high is fun. Feeling helpless is not fun.

The game would still be plenty hard to clutch with base toughness regen. The game will still be easier if your allies aren’t all dead.

We don’t need mechanics to force players to be together, when the game is already designed to encourage people to be together.

Coherency being the way that it is, is bad.

I quite frankly don’t give a flying fck anymore about what Hedge says. The dude has uttered enough questionable comments to where I no longer trust the dude. Aqushy is compromised as well as I have read her comments defending the cash shop so there goes someone originally from the community now doing this sht.

Aw cut him some slack he’s under a lot of pressure right now.

Guys I’ve found the person who stole all our copium.
