No offense but the Mourningstar just isn’t a good benchmark for this. It’s a very online space subject to lag and there’s too many player characters running around

Do you have SMT (Simultaneous Multithreading) enabled? Yes I have it enabled and I haven’t tried to disable it.
-
Which driver version are you using? 25.6.2
-
Do these issues occur only in Darktide? No. They also happen in Helldivers 2. In benchmark application I get full GPU board power draw (300+ W) and in other games I have no problem at the moment. it may happen in other games that I haven’t tried but as far as I know the low GPU board power draw happens in Darktide and Helldivers 2 which gimps my performance. in Helldivers the fps is low but still somewhat smooth, in Darktide I get micro stutters which makes it very annoying.

Have you confirmed that all redundant GPU drivers have been uninstalled? This is especially important if the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT is an upgrade and another GPU was previously installed in the same PC
Yes, I previously had an RTX3070 but I uninstalled using DDU in safe mode as suggested.
Is this still running? When I installed the 9070 XT I was first blown away, coming from a 7900 XTX but have been without a proper GPU for month (I played Darktide on a Raphael iGPU when I had to get the events…). The performance with FSR4 is phenomenal.
But then it drops randomly. Suddenly you get horrific frametimes and about 30 - 40 FPS. GPU does not utilize. This occurs especially when streaming with OBS. The only “fix” I found is to ALT+F4 the game and restart to force a reconnect, you immediately have the full performance again.
I use the AMD driver from June, Windows 10 LTSC and have a 9700X / 64 GB AM5 machine. Not sure if changing workers does anything but my CPU is among the fastest you can currently obtain.
Another issue I found and heard of was a crash that only occured after a mission in Dark AND Vermintide. But it seems to be fixed now. Not sure if its AMD or Fatshark. But support the 9070 properly, many people buy these cards because they are currently the best value GPU and do RT just as good as NVIDIA.
So turns out Global illumination uses RT pipelines for the baked in lighting. This means that until there is a driver fix, there is 0 way to fix this issue unless there is a way to disable global illumination, which I dont think there is.
@FatsharkJulia Do you know of a way that we can completely disable global illumination until AMD deploys a fix?
Funny thing about the RTGI and the baked lights. Doubt it’s exclusive to the 9070 cards but rather the baked in lighting either has issues or creates problems elsewhere in the game engine. Maybe it takes too long to load the baked lighting which fills a direct storage queue and causes a stall or maybe it’s something completely unrelated.

25.6.2 has improved the stalls in inventory loading, or coming out of missions (RT or not, both were having that issue).
But I can still see GPU utilization dropping frequently and therefore performance is really not satisfying. Again, RT on/off makes no difference.
As AMD acknowledged this is an issue for all AMD cards.
Its astonishing that Fatshark STILL hasn’t acknowledged it in the post title. There was the 9000 series issues, and then there is the AMD issues.
Im going insane
Sounds like its a huge issue then so the best way to “fix” is is not playing and definitely NOT BUY THE DLC until Lazyshark gets their issues done. The 9000 series is out since March, so they had a considerable time as a lot of people buy them, now even in the midrange. Fixing performance / stablity should always have priority over content.
@FatsharkJulia Are there any further updates around this from AMD?
I’m hoping that this is fixed in the next driver update, and that it is ACTUALLY fixed.
Sorry Vizra, I haven’t received anything new from AMD.
After arbi patch and installing 25.6.2 I had a way smoother experience with inventory loading and normal gameplay for like a week and thought finally this stuttering is over. Then after some of the hotfix patches the problem came right back.
I had problems with performance in the last couple of patches and went to google searching for older similar issues. Did a few things so not sure what fixed it. Verify integrity of files and then erase shader_cache.hans (in %appdata% /fatshark folder) and updated windows.
Hope this help
Same, it’s back to gpu utilization drops after the recent two patches/hotfixes.
This is my experience as well. Gpu usage rarely gets aboe 75-80%, low power draw as well on a 9070xt after the latest hotfixes.
Yes, after the 25.6.2 AMD update but before the latest Darktide updates, the game ran much smoother. Since the updates it has resorted back to the stuttering mess it was before. I have tried all the old fixes, disable RT, adjust SMT, edit the texture streaming etc, nothing fixes, maybe alleviates the worst of it. I’m seriously considering selling the 9070 for a 5070 or 5070ti. It’s a shame I really try to support AMD.
