We’ve seen some questions regarding Sienna’s arsenal with the launch of Necromancer so we’ve gone ahead and prepared this graphic for you all to reference at a glance!
The new weapons coming with the Necromancer career are the Ensorcelled Reaper, a slow but powerful scythe weapon, and the Soulstealer Staff, which seeks out lives to snuff as it lives up to its name…
While these spooky weapons perfectly fit the withered hands of any Necromancer, this is still our Sienna! As a Necromancer, she will still have access to all of her existing staves and melee weapons, with the exception of the Flamestorm Staff.
Additionally, of her new weapons, the Ensorcelled Reaper will also be available to her previous careers, while the vile magicks of the Soulstealer Staff are exclusive to the Necromancer career.
We know you’re anxious for more news and information! In the coming weeks we’ll be releasing some dev blogs about Necromancer, starting with one focused on the lore and narrative of the career. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, in case you missed it, the people at Gamereactor interviewed us during Gamescom and they got to ask some questions and have a go at Necromancer Sienna, here’s the link to the article.
I don’t think any of the DLC classes got a full array except Warrior Priest, which had to do with lore-wise, his class couldn’t use a lot of Victor’s already existing weapon set. The rest having two new is pretty standard for our releases.
I’m parroting everyone else’s request/hope that her flamesword, crowbill, flail, etc. and staves get turquoise glowy flames when used by a Necromancer
This part baffles me.
Why Flamestorm the objectively worst staff in Sienna’s arsenal? It’s fun in Veteran and Below but it’s complete garbage in Champion and above when you need to be an asset to your team rather than a liability.
Does this mean flamethrowers are getting a rework to make them finally have a niche somehow but would be broken on the Necromancer?
Of course. Necromancy is not a separate wind, it’s dark magic.
So rather than channeling aqshy and bending it to her will to do fire stuff, Sienna is grabbing a handful of whatever winds of magic she could get her hands on to perform Necromancy.
Balthazar Gelt was still capable of metal magic after becoming a Necromancer himself.
While I understand that GW is the decider here. Doesn’t WP also use non-hammer weapons ? Could we have an explanation on why the different weapons from that class aren’t shared?
Probably fluff, his bulky armor looks more intimidating with big weapons. It would be more out of place than GK with a Halberd if he could use Billhook.
I’m casting another vote for necromancy-colored fire. What self respecting necromancer would be caught shooting orange flame? The branding alone! What if someone mistook you for an Imperial College skull-covered-fire-witch instead of a spooky bat-obsessed skull-covered-fire-witch? Talk about embarrassing.
There has to be a unique green flame glow for all the fire staves, otherwise, it wouldn’t really make sense lore-wise if I’m not mistaken and artistically the orange flame would just clash with the entire aesthetic.
However there’s nothing lore-breaking about her using regular fire magic as a Necromancer since Necromancy isn’t a different wind of magic or anything, it’s just a different way to wield the magic she’s been using to make fire all this time. So it’s not like wizards lose their previous magic when learning Necromancy
