Info on Weapon Activations?

A bunch of weapons have an activation as their special action.
Those are Power weapons (Zealot Hammers, Ogryn Paul, Veteran Swords), Chain weapons, and Force Swords.
But their function is rather insufficiently explained. On Power weapons that have a “Power Output” stat, we at least get a lot of the stats associated with that, though I’m not perfectly sure if that’s in addition to the regular hit, or the whole deal. But then, there’s the Power- and Force-Swords, and I’m not too sure about the specifics.
Further, the info I can find is often woefully out of date.
F.Ex., there’s this thread about how the PS supposedly has more charged swings if holding the heavy attack longer. Is that still the case?
So, basically, my question is:

Is there a stat-breakdown available for the power weapons that shows what each activation does, how long it takes, and how it interacts with blessings?

Short Breakdown of weapon activations

Power Swords:
Activate for 4s, the weapon receives massive cleave and what I assume must be a lot of armour penetration. The Power Cycler Blessing can be used to get extra charged swings per activation.

Chain Weapons:
Activate for 2 seconds. The attack gets stuck in anything that the initial hit doesn’t kill, dealing several smaller ticks of damage, then a final bigger one when pulling the weapon back.
Dodging can be used to end the effect earlier, forfeiting the final damage tick.
Chain Axes get stuck on regular light attacks, causing some saw damage, and an Eviscerator Heavy attack may also at times get stuck in an armoured target for a fraction of a second.
How many ticks an individual weapon deals on getting stuck seems to vary.

Force Swords:
Activate at the cost of some peril. Obscurus and Deimos Force Swords will receive a single strong attack that makes the sword get stuck in the target, dealing multiple ticks of damage.
The Illisi works more like a power sword, getting a swipe with a lot of bonus cleave and probably improved armour multipliers.

Power Hammers / Mauls
Two different weapon types, the former for single target, the latter for crowd control, they share a general activation mechanic of “single hit, that’s it”. Activated hits neal notably more damage and in the case of maul/crusher cause area stagger and large area suppression.

Individual Questions

Some things I’d personally like to know:

  • Does the Suppression of Power Mauls interact with the Ogryn’s “extra damage vs. suppressed Targets” Aura? I would assume yes
  • Do the damage ticks of saw attacks and Obscurus/Deimos Force swords count as “weapon hits”?
Aka, will they sustain or break blessings requiring repeated chained weakspot hits?
Will they benefit from weakspot modifiers?
  • Do activated attacks (“Special Attack”) still count as a regular attack? F.Ex., if I had Bloodthirsty on an Illisi Force Sword, granting crit chance after a special attack kill, can I charge again and gain that crit bonus, or would I need it insert a non-charged attack?
  • How many damage ticks does a specific chain weapon have on activation? And do they all have the same activation duration?

Would like to see a damage table for the special activations as well…

For all chain weapons the “latching” attacks that are “normal” deal the first damage tick based on damage and the subsequent ticks based on the shredder stat.

The MK4 Chain Axe deals 2 ticks of damage on each light. One on hit and one saw tick. This can be dodged out of at no stamina cost.

The MK12 Chain Axe deals its 2 ticks of damage on latching heavy attacks with cleaving normal lights.

The Tirgus MK2 Heavy [Chainsword] also deals 2 ticks of damage on heavy attacks. Heavy 2 will latch on first target hit while Heavy 1 will cleave until a given hitmass and then latch for the saw.

The Tigrus MK15 Heavy [Chainsword] will latch on heavy attacks also and the push-stab. Though it might even latch for 3 ticks. Not sure, haven’t played much.

Most of these weapons have different saw durations and behaviors based on the attack used. For example the Tigrus MK15 and Orestes MK12 have 5 tick heavy attack activated special saws. But at least the MK12 has a 4 tick activated special light.

I think this is case by case. They won’t break chained hits but activating the special attack WILL break chain hits. But brittleness effects will be applied on each saw damage tick for blessings like thunderous.

You can repeatedly use special attacks to benefit from bloodthirsty.

highly variable as mentioned above. The old chain weapons from before patch 15.2 all had 4 tick activations on all attacks. The new batch all seem to have at least 5 tick heavy attacks.

Reginald strikes again! With 2 ticks of damage.
I kind of already assumed that you’d be able to enlighten on the topic of Chaxes, at least. ^^
And Force swords, too.
Leaves… basically mostly Power Swords.

Oh, about the new chain weapons: Do their saw attacks last longer, or are the ticks just closer together?

They last longer to account for the additional ticks, making them less safe. But they hit harder. I find the rest of their move sets boring or I’d prefer them.

Sorry to say I don’t know much about power swords other than haha weapon OP go brrr kill everything lmao.
