I want to delete/disable it because on windows 7 it caused fps problems and it does the same on windows 10 but on windows 10 there are lots of programs that use it so i cant just delete it so i need a way to specifically delete it just from vermintide 2.
The only difference between my windows 7 and 10 pc is a better operating system on a faster ssd and microsoftedgewebview2, all my other settings are exactly the same but i still have an fps loss over 33 in the keep and much more during hordes because of it.
I’m not sure how to delete/disable Edge WebView2 for Vermintide 2 only, but I believe that it is Vermintide 2’s launcher, Launcher.exe that calls/uses it. I believe that if you terminate Launcher.exe, then the game will also not run Edge WebView2. I run a batch script (.BAT file) with the following commands after I see the game’s splash screen:
taskkill /IM msedgewebview2.exe /F
taskkill /IM Launcher.exe /F
The game should run fine even if you terminate those two processes (after launching the game).
I looked up how to make a .bat file because its not something i have used before. Thank you holler.
you can also try to switch to the “Bypass Launcher” branch on the steam’s game settings page.
and then select to run a game without a launcher.
