Hi as thread title asks: How do you melee the fast ragers when they swarm you with the standard shock maul? I cannot stagger them at all, isn’t the maul supposed to be a stagger weapon?
Ragers get more resistant to stagger when they’re in the midst of their attack combos. As far as I’m aware, the only way to break them out of it with the standard smaul is using the Falter blessing or stacking the Hammerblow blessing. I prefer Falter as it requires no prior setup, though with Hammerblow stacks you likely reach stagger breakpoints on other targets like Crushers.

If you don’t play arbites you need some impact blessing, I am using hammer blow.
Otherwise shoot them, it’s a simplest way.

Maybe I will start using impact blessings on the snail… If I remember correctly this also increases to shock dot appliance. Thx a lot
If you’re playing Zealot they’ve got Grievous Wounds (+50% Stagger on melee weakspot hit) and Punishment (+8% Impact Strength stacks 5 times when hitting 3 enemies) to help the smaul stagger without using a blessing spot. Idk if those talents enable enough stagger on all targets so you can go all in on damage to run both skullcrusher and high voltage. Vet unfortunately has to give up a blessing spot.

shoot them or just block and let a team mate peel them off of you
