You’re seriously referencing Mortis Trials? A game mode where the power ups are absolutely bonkers and regular game mode enemies won’t ever keep up, but instead you get a slow trickle of enemies.
Go play Auric Maelstrom.

Mortis trial (of patience)?
Endless hordes+ custom game (ahem lobby browser ahem)?
If we are all just playing for fun at this point we might as well just play for fun ![]()
Lol I have played AM more than anything over my 1.5k hours.
I rarely see enemy count over 3k in AM let alone almost 4k enemies in a match.
Not sure what your point is? To pretend a 30min match with almost 4k enemies is not going to be a challenge is petty.
Btw it has to be the carnival mortis map. The other one is a ghost town. So if you’ve only played the ghost town one then I can understand your misunderstanding. The carnival one can definitely get bonkers. it’s just good fun. If you want turbo sweats with foam swords then go play havoc.
I have 2k hours, played this game back to front. Def prefer more enemies, reducing the number of enemies is absolutely the wrong way to go and if anything the number should be increased.
I will say some weapons need to be dumpstered by the nerf bat.
Yeah I absolutely love the insanely dense crowds.
I couldn’t put the game down when Moebians was a special event. Was the most fun I think I’ve ever had in DT.
Then FS removed it because…reasons. lol
I played both and got the penances done.
It’s fun, but in no way is MT a challenge once you get some synchronicity with the power ups.
Ogryn with good grenade updates can just spam 200% frag bombs. That’s just one game breaking power up.
Of course it’s going to be boring.
As I mentioned earlier, my comments were based on the fairly rare occurrence in MT when things do go bananas. It’s not very common but does happen.
I wish every match was like that because yes many are boring. That’s why I made a point of those rare fun times with almost 4k kills in 30 mins. It was fun.
I certainly yearn for an auric version.
And the map that’s not in carnival setting needs a SERIOUS boost of enemies as it is indeed a snooze fest.
Agreed for MT, but everyone was talking about regular mission board and Havoc.
Adding more enemy spam which can be disposed with a single hit or stun locked is not what most people posting here want.
It completely bypasses combat. What if you would actually have to deal with a crusher by dodging it several times while wearing it down?
I personally enjoy the denser crowds.
I had insane fun on the auric board when moebians where a special event modifier. It was the most fun I think I’ve ever had in DT.
So I don’t agree that fewer enemies is more fun. It might be a different kind of fun sure, but perhaps that could be a modifier or mode. I don’t want less enemies to be normal.
If anything I want more. AM should be totally batsheet.
That’s my issue with the current overall balance.
Special after Special after Special makes Specials not special. The game needs them as threats, but you don’t so much fight them as put them down. They’re turning into more of a patience check than a skill check.
But ATM we need all those Specials, because the Elites are less individual challenges you need to react and adapt to than mobs - or just many-headed blobs - you blast or chop with your universally-potent weapon.
A big gang of Crushers isn’t “Oh, no!”, it’s the amount needed to actually get your attention. A few Crushers are just a speed bump.
The common hordes are, too much of the time, less like real foes and more like muck clinging to your boots, or a haze you have to shoot through. They’re not trvial, but I certainly don’t worry about the team having enough horde clear.
If individual enemies are significantly more potent, then you can dramatically increase difficulty by adding more of them. But when you need a blob of enemies to create challenge, and players are always ready and equipped to deal with enemies as blobs, then bigger and denser blobs does little to change the experience. The blobs don’t reach farther or charge faster - they just have more hit points to chew through.
