Hotfix #79 - 1.9.3 - Patch Notes

Hey Everyone,

Hotfix #79 (1.9.3) is currently rolling out across our platforms. In the meantime, you can read the notes below. As a heads up, this hotfix will be somewhat heavier than previous ones due to various changes to sound files.

Features & Tweaks

  • Scab Plasma Gunner
    • New charge sound
    • New “Scope” VFX and “Scope” SFX
      • These should make dodging more consistent
    • Shot cooldown lowered from 2.4 to 2.0
    • Lowered dodge window from 0.7 to 0.6

General Fixes

  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur in Havoc when spawning enemies.
  • Fixed issues with subtitles displaying over menus.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause multiple voicelines to play at the same time in the Mourningstar.
  • Fixed an issue where the Veteran “Rangefinder Goggles” headgear cosmetics would cause a small patch of balding.
  • Fixed some timing issues with the Plasma Gunner’s sound effects.
  • Fixed an issue where Force Staves would fail to shoot the projectile that triggered the Perils of the Warp state.
  • Fixed an issue where Veteran’s Infiltrate would not end when damaging an enemy in the first 0.5s of entering stealth.
  • Fixed an issue where Psyker’s Soulblaze from Perilous Combustion and Venting Shriek could be applied to un-aggroed Daemonhosts, waking them up.
  • Relic Blade - Fixed an issue where it was not always possible to immediately chain an attack after performing a Special activate/de-activate action while sprinting.
    • Dev note: thanks to players arkanian1210, aroth68 and CobaltNinja (among others) for bringing this to our attention!
  • Fixed a crash caused by the visual effects of Rotten Armour enemies.
    • Dev note: we thought we had fixed the same crash in our previous hotfix, but it was only a partial fix. This should solve all occurrences of the issue.
  • Fixed an issue where players could path upwards from specific nodes in the Veteran talent tree.
  • [PS5 only] Fixed an issue that could cause the PS5 DualSense controller to vibrate indefinitely when using the Ogryn Power Maul special attack.

Known Issues

We’re aware of increased disconnects and server instability since the 1.9.0 update. Hotfixes have provided some improvements and we’re monitoring closely; restoring full stability will take additional time.

Some players might experience a rare crash occurring when trying to equip items to a character. This is affecting players with old loadout preset data. For players experiencing this issue, creating a new loadout preset should bypass the crash. A fix will be deployed soon to address the crash, which will in some instance delete the character loadouts.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding!

We’ll see you on the Mourningstar.

Always good to see a hotfix. But we are all still waiting (and bracing) for Arbiter nerf. This Halloween or the anniversary?

Good good, let the patches go through you

I hope chainweapons bug (doesn’t stagger crushers) will be fixed soon

Ayy the relic blade chain! Happy to see it. Also good to see the PGers tweaked again with proper cues now.

Update rate and changes are good post-BbD patch.

Dang was really hoping ogryn Paul would get an instant special like the Arbites, and a cool down reduction…maybe next time.

Plasma updates are very welcome though!

Thanks for the update!

Arbites doesn’t need to be singled out anymore after the recent tree updates. All classes are quite aligned tbh. Now some blanket tweaks on enemy buffs could really push balance in a nice way. After all, balance is, in essence, just damage Vs HP and vice versa.

Psycher prob needs a mild nerf over all overs tbh ..they just seem to be melting everything with huge and constant AOE attacks. They also claim all kills constantly which is really annoying if you’re trying to do the penances.

I exploded a pack of about 8 plasma dudes the other day with my ogryn nuke. They all died instantly as the nuke went off but the psycher got all the kills because they were spraying blue flame everywhere. This is super, super common IME and happens pretty much every mission with a psycher.

A few of the meta weapons need a bit of nerfing but I think classes are pretty aligned.

I assume you guys are aware of the immortal blue-stimmed mobs bug where tox bomber or pox gas additively stacks with the 80% dmg resist from blue stimm to make them literally invulnerable? Surprised this isn’t fixed in this patch.

That seems like a bug rather than straight dmg issue. Simply having soulblaze on a mob doesn’t normally give you the kill if someone else finishes it off. It is theoretically possible your nuke took them all very low, and then they all died to a final soulblaze tick. Otherwise what you describe must be a bug.

yeah this is unrelated to dmg, but it reminded me of it to mention it.

It always happens (regularly, not 100% oc) . Extremely common. I assume the ticker for psycher abilities is very fast and thus catches the final hp on kills in a quicker fashion.

I see it happen every single mission. Often when my pickaxe dives into an enemy and the psycher gets the kill. Very frustrating but I’ve learned to live with it.

What I think often happens is a lot of elites are tightly clustered, there’s lots of stacks of soulblaze on them, and then one of the elites take a huge hit that either gets it low (a brainburst proc from kinetic flayer) or another player finishes it off. Either way it now dies with all these soulblaze stacks on it and perilous combustion+wildfire spreads lots of further stacks to surrounding elites. This then basically chain-reactions into the psyker finishing off all the elites.

It’s likely to be a breakpoint thing. Your charged swings don’t quite 1-shot enemies, but simply triggers escalating chainreactions of Perilous Combustion+Wildfire.

Blue stimm bug from Havoc still not fixed? Lol

At least they fixed Rotten Armor crash, though I haven’t played yet to know for sure

Sorry, I didn’t understand why the description in the Steam announcement and forum is different

I’m not prepared. I don’t want to spend money on a profession that becomes boring in six months
Vermintide 2 - Sister of the Thorn
DLC was weakened after half a year of purchase compared to the original profession, and players’ money was wasted

Forgot to fix that typo on steam; fixed!

You know what would be really cool? If Gundam’s were real. Seeing giant robots flying around and fighting each other is super awesome. But since that’s not possible, can we just get solo mode in Darktide please?
