Hotfix #64 (1.7.2) - Patch Notes

The forums would just recreate that Mutant charge noise in real life en masse

So by your idea someone could potentially have to play and win 120 matches, at best, to rank to 40? Sounds like a terrible idea.

Perhaps it was the same braintrust that doubled-down on the severe crafting limitations that plagued the game for so many long months.

On the other hand, I doubt that would’ve lasted quite so long if our beloved FatShark-whisperer @FatsharkStrawHat had been there at the time; I’m sure none of us have forgotten those dark days of non-communcation.

Unable to change weapons, curios and any cosmetics as well as being unable to switch loadouts. Onslaught penance still seems to be broken. Bit unfortunate I can’t experience the Ogryn rework  tried making new classes deleted or even changing the current class that it’s set to but nothing seems to work I even deleted and reinstalled the game.

If anyone knows a fix to this please let me know thank you. I’m on ps5

There are 7 different difficulties to master before you should ever even remotely think about playing havoc. The existence of havoc had absolutely nothing to do with casuals nor does it affect malice players who play 3 hours a week. If most people who play this game arent on the auric board, what does havoc existing have to do with them? I genuinely have no clue what youre talking about. Do casuals not have rnoughw to do in this game? They can go god roll everything on 4 characters after maxing them out. They can play with like a dozen different builds and play with tons of different weapon combinations. They can max out all 4 characters and finish penances to get armor. They can go play mortis trials all day if they so choose. Havoc existing is not in any way shape or form affecting heresy players because its end game content. Your average darktide player cant even play a damnation low intensity mission without going down ten times so why would they participate in havoc? Hardcore players have far less to do in this game than casuals and yet we still continue to play more than the average player but for whatever reason thats an issue. People who suck at darktide who cant get past malice who are playing darktide blind should not be concerned with havoc. theirs like a thousand other things a casual could be doing in this game that dont involve havoc but because everybody wants a participation trophy and to be included in everything somehow end game content existing is a problem which is hilarious. If you arent good enough to participate in end game content you shouldnt be doing it. When i started playing this game I sucked so I had no business playing hi shock auric missions all day but I eventually got better to the point where I could. I wasnt sitting on the internet mad about the fact that I couldnt participate in end game content nor was I going to quit playing darktide because some people were better than me at the game cuz that makes zero sense. Apparently The problem with alot of casuals who play this game is they want instant gratification and they want to participate in everything. when they cant get that they want someone to blame so they blame farshark or they blame people with 2,000 hours as if my playtime has anything to do with the fact that someone isnt willing to put the time in to get better and therefore cant get out of heresy and somehow thats my fault. If you arent willing to put hundreds and hundreds of hours into learning how to play the game and learning the core mechanics and learning the different characters well thats their fault. It is never going to be a hardcore players problem that a casual sucks at the game. All build crafting games have a ton of people who arent willing to put the time in to not get casual and a select few who are willing to grind the game thats just how it goes. Borderlands works exactly the same way. There are people who have tons of builds and learn the game inside and out and play on the hardest difficulty and there are casuals who play for a week hit max level never buy dlc and stop playing the game. Its also odd that people continue to insinuate that because there are more casuals than hardcore players that the casuals somehow care about the game more than the hardcore players which couldnt be further from the truth. Aint no way the noob who plays darktide blind two houra a week in malice difficulty with one character at level 30 cares more about whats going on in darktide than someone with 2,000 hours i mean thats ridiculous. What do you mean the casuals are the life blood of the game? They dont even play the game. Oh yeah dude that guy on my friends list who hasnt played darktide but like 3 hours in the past 4 months really cares about havoc existing its really making him not want to play darktide lolol.

I think it should shift one place, making Heresy normal and Damnation Hard.

That’s more in line with common player experience.

That said Sedition/lobotomite should just be removed. Who’s that for? Taking up 2 to 3 slots on the regular mission board.

Uprising is the introduction to game mechanics and for early leveling up. Malice is where first time players will encounter actual challenges and can skill up by practice.

PC will also encounter this problem, and only Oglin will encounter it

What are you basing this on?

Seems reasonable to assume that it’s for someone because FS continues to throw money at servers for them.

I remember when i start play darktide (open beta) - i start from sedition and slowly get to malice.

If nothing drastically changed - this is surely for new players.

Ask any player with less than 100 hours.

Plenty of people playing until lvl 30 in Malice and practicing before moving up and struggling in Herecy.

The 1000+ hour people on here are absolutely out of touch saying Auric Maelstrom is baby mode.

That’s presuming every decision Fatshark makes is reasonable. You yourself just defended the statement that Uprising is “lobotimist”. (To which I disagree, it serves as an introduction for new players) So what value does Sedition give?

The game has suffered from powercreep which is why difficulties keep being added and as a result the lowest ones are just a waste of space. The only discussion to be had here is at which difficulty that starts for new players.

I played one or two games in Sedition, because I was new to the game and it’s the lowest difficulty. On the other characters I started on Uprising. No issues there.

If Uprising was the lowest I would have started there and it would have been a fine introduction.

And that’s why people call it very easy. Go back and play it with a new character. Just use the weapons you get as mission reward only.

But even then, those hundreds of hours of game experience is something newer players don’t have.

There are about 100 new Steam reviews a day right now, presumably from new-ish players and surely not all from old Tideheads.

I’d wager the number one concern FS has about new players is them getting turned off by the quite unique gameplay before they understand it. That’s why Sedition is fine: it’s just an option. An option that puts the level design and voice acting at the forefront.

And I can almost guarantee that it’s still around because it needs to be there for some folks.

You just enjoy being contraction. It’s tiresome.

First you defend the proposition that both Sedition and Uprising are so easy it’s equal to “lobotimize” and Heresy is “easy” mode.

Then you go on and say Uprising has a deserved place in the game.

Which is it?

Wat?

Where? When?

I was taking about Sedition (that’s difficult 1, right?), but yes I think the lowest difficulty has an obvious place in the game and removing it wouldn’t solve any perceived problems (like not having enough missions for higher levels or the board or whatever).

Phone typo. I meant contrarian.

Yep, my bad again. I meant T1, Sedition.

I am about to quit responding for two reasons: it’s tiresome and I’m obviously making lots of mistakes.

Gotcha. Yea, I think there’s some miscommunication going on.
