Hotfix #51 (1.5.4) - Patch Notes

My thoughts on plasma:

Severely reduce or even eliminate the cleave on regular shots (still let it damage a bulwark trough the shield). Could potentially up the fire rate so can shoot out a bunch of weaker shots but will hit the heat limit quicker.

If you want to get the strong penetrating shots like today, make it so that you HAVE to charge it, and thus also be more at risk of exploding.

The problem with it IMHO today is that it’s just mindlessly easy to use (and powerful on top of it) because you have strong enough shots with a huge amount of cleave allowing it to be fired at elite targets through a horde, or even used in an anti horde capacity quite easily.

Thematically this change would make sense too. Plasma cannons used to be able to be fired at different power levels, and even normal plasma guns should shoot once or rapid fire and shoot multiple times, but it would increase the risk of exploding. By making the charged shots the only one with cleave, your mimicking some of that same risk tradeoff - ie you can hit more targets at once but risk exploding. They need to bring that back.

Give it a new blessing that gives players a grace period to vent or something, which would make it “safer” but also reduce the power potential (since you’re not taking a damage increasing blessing).

This update broke Gamepass Friends. Everyone appears offline, can’t invite anyone, can’t join friends.

Unsniper the Revolver.

Probably one of the most unpopular takes possible, but, yeah… it’s a normal-ass pistol, I don’t know why it maintains such accuracy and power over a huge range and is capable of ripping through multiple armored enemies. I’ve said before that it’d be fine if it didn’t have the range it does.

Headhunters (vigilants?) need a niche, they’re one of the few weapons that I don’t take at all. DMR is what it seems like they’re going for but they don’t hit the mark, maybe improve their long-ranged effectiveness and let them struggle with close-range targets… dunno.

Anyway… it’s like balancing a game is hard or something…

WTF is this update. It completely broke my resolution and I have no idea how to fix it.

For the record, my native screen resolution is 2400x1600. I’ve been playing DT in 1920 x 1200 since forever to get a bit better performance. Now, instead of scaling the 1920 x 1200 to fit the display it just only fills in that part of the monitor. So my game looks like this:

How in god’s great earth is this possible? Anyone know of a solution?

I have all my mods disabled, have tried restarting the game multiple times, etc. This is incredibly aggravating.

So somehow turning my mods back on got me to full screen, but now here’s what it looks like in-game:

Surel’y someone else is having this issue?

So, whatever was done with the window settings with this update, it’s made menus and loading screens look weird, like they’re all shifted an inch or so off the right hand side of the screen no matter what i do. In the loadout screen, if I want to select loadout 3, I have to hover over loadout 1.

For everything else, stuff appears to work fine, but some things are…wonky.

For now it appears the fix is to change my system resolution in windows display setting down to 1920 x 1200 and then DT appears to scale okay. That will be fun changing that every time I go to load up DT.

I needed to use the Custom HUD mod to reset the UI for it to display correctly.

What a mess…

Yeah weird, just tried it, seems to display fine at 1920x1200, but at but at native 4k it wants to be funky. I’m not having the issue in the loadout window anymore after swapping resolutions, and there’s no issues in-game, but the loading screens still all show shifted an inch low and an inch right, kinda like your earlier screenshot was shifted up and left. Weird.

This update has made my game run worse than before somehow and I have my settings the same as I used to. From 60-70 fps to 40. What the heck have you done?

Yes. Myself and another had the exact same issue. I’m running vanilla, so I can launch the game with a specified resolution with no upscaler or with DLSS active and it’s fine, but the moment I change any video settings, it shows up like that crapshow…

If I choose any non-DLSS upscaler, it launches that same borked way.

At least I can alt+tab out without it borking but it’s still aggravating that I basically have to relaunch the game if I make any video setting changes…

Figured out my issue, it was trying to use 4096x2160 as a “native” 4k resolution, instead of 3840x2160. Never even seen that option before.

Never mind screenshotting settings, I cannot use DSR and that is the end for me. It was fun while it lasted. I only regret spending so much at the fomo shop.

Thanks for the patch!

Also :joy: … True to my ADHD, the moment I noticed that weird fullscreen popup on the launcher I was sure some crash had again reset my settings, so I fetched my backup config file from before, which didn’t have my various unknown tweaks from the past few months so I had to configure my mods and some keybinds etc. again. :sob: … And that’s all on me.

Anyway, Illisi special spam to build up peril is back on the menu! Yessss! :smiling_imp:

After the update the game does not work!!

Definitely don’t nerve the plasma anymore, I suspect that the person who made the nerf suggestion doesn’t play the game at all

Illissi Mk IIa Psykana Collar not fixed?

Nobody minds some items dropping with ±1 modifier point. It happens rarely and you get what you see.

Why focus on this completely irrelevant thing, when you could be focusing on the rerolling of max stats during the upgrade process instead?

You fixing this „issue“ will now devalue existing weapons with 1additional modifier point, while providing no benefit to anyone.

Meanwhile, the actual problem with modifier points stays…

you should play without any problem with an rtx 3060ti.
I play with my native monitor resolution (2k),
dlss in performance mode.
settings on high
fsr3.1 frame gen.
raytracing off.
Try testing all setting possible and later setting it with my setting, i have problem til i setted up without dlss, only with fsr3.1 and fs3.1 frame gen and later on when i deactivate fsr3.1 and activate nvidia dlss it works well.
Only with fsr3.1 and fsr3.1 framegen you can play with high fps for sure.

61 is just as likely as 59, fixing it would address both. Besides, we’re talking about a bug. 381+ base score items aren’t supposed to exist. If it’s not just a visual bug then leaving those in the game so some people who happened to be active at this time would still have them years down the line, would be nothing short of amateurish to the extreme. I can’t even think of a game that’s done that. Even if 1% is insignificant.

Also these issues are highly similar, both seeming to deal with rounding issues during upgrade. I’d say there’s a good chance the two problems are related and fixing one will, if not fix the other, at least help with that one too.
