In screaming bell after the drop down from the first open space with the carts there is a hole that drops you below the level.
There is this small corner with a lot of bottles. when you walk over the plank that borders the dirt inside and outside, you fall below the level.

Yea, there’s a few other ways to get down as well. and you can walk under the entire map and explore the sides. I did a bug report on it a few months ago. Some people abuse it by running ahead and pulling all the mobs. When they get to the tunnel near the 2nd tome and 2nd grim, that goes to the steps that take you upstairs. They stand in that hall way and can kill all the mobs from underground without taking any damage.
