Hellbore lasgun buff idea

this is a couple of ideas for a hellbore buff both being based on the weapon swap keystone with i think both being implemented will make it more useful and fun in general with the first is simple. speed up its weapon swap time by like 50% at base please… like it takes like 2 seconds to just get the damn thing out nevermind the further second or so to charge a shot if you wanna shoot it with hell, your better of at that point just stabbing with the bayonet which is still highly annoying to do with the multiple second swap time.

the second idea is a bit more in depth and is to make the bayonet stab count as a melee kill letting you get ranged specialist stacks before than shooting and triggering your ranged stacks where than you get your melee stack back on shooting and killing a few enemies before stabbing again making it and any future bayoneted weapons become REALLY strong for the melee vet. PLEASE give it at least ONE of these if not both because really man, its just kinda painful to use right now even though i wanna use my badass hellbore which is one of my favorite 40k guns man…

edit: i will add that i think upon further reflection, while the weapon swap speed definantly needs to be upped by at least 25%, i also think that the gun should have a base 50% cleave IN GENERAL as in if you hit ANYWHERE, the shot cleaves through for 50% to the next target so that when you take hotshot, it becomes 100% on weakspot hits meaning that suddenly, the helbores place is clearing paths for the team from a marksmans position by basically one shot headshotting 2 or 3 lines right next to eachother clearing out a lane in the horde for a moment so your team can more easily move through it and making the like 10 ammo per shot feel less painful because NOW it suddenly actually is being useful if you line up your shots right AND this still requires aim to hit heads to get the effect you want because otherwise, while it still cleaves 50% at least, it wont go too far in a thick horde meaning you not only still get rewarded for headshots with the hot shot blessing but it also makes it so it feels less like its a blessing to make the gun meaningful because you would definantly with this go for something like falter and no respite or no respite and armorsbane instead and just work with the 50% cleave by making each shot overkill so hard, it can still clear lanes making build diversity blessings wise FAR better and more open ended.

The weapon draw time is indeed prohibitive even when specc’d, but its more than useable without if you can pre-empt and make yourself space aka employ skill. Tricky one…

This is what happens when the game designers play the game on Malice. Helbore can be fun, but the constant fiddling with the firing mechanism delays your reaction to situations, and the weapon’s power does not justify this.

The charge up mechanic also gets old fast. In my case it also tires my hand. I wish we had at least one mark which simply fired slow but hit hard, without the charge-up mechanic. Just a las powered DMR.

thats the thing, is that it would be a great idea if this wasnt a horde game my guy. hell hot shot is a NECESSARY pick that should be baked into the guns base kit with hotshot simply making it 100% cleave and chained shots is really necessary but is overshadowed by how mandatory hot shot is and how good no respite or armorsbane are because since each shot takes so long and requires so much ammo, without SOME cleave even if it only procs on head shots, your not only gonna run outta ammo but the horde will make mince meat of you to the point the only way i get the damn thing to work is by running a cavalry saber with it and for reference, i have both the title and the emblem from auric malestrom for beating 5 in a row without dying and beating one with no one going down even once… like i KNOW what im doing my guy but its so damn weak right now.

You’re so close.

Sounds good, although technically the issue is that WS allocates stacks based on what you are wielding rather than how you kill things. Definitely room for improvement.

I like that you are interested in the hybrid role of the helbore. Usually, people whine on about how it’s a sniper rifle in their head but not one in the game.
