Have Crushers/Maulers been buffed? (Or Thunder Hammer nerfed?)

They feel the same to me, granted I haven’t looked at any numbers, or recent changes. I was still one shotting them on auric damnation by bopping them on the nose as of yesterday.

Powersword outperformed the TH, is a bit of a joke.
The Mk VI PS is bonkers, has some amazing blessings, and has little drawbacks except poor mobility

Crucis can one shot crushers, but with a bunch of caveats. You need the thrust blessing and Fury of the Faithful (zealot charge). I don’t have the game open to test if I actually need to use the ult, but I’m pretty sure you do. But either way, you absolutely need thrust. Before they buffed the crusher’s health, Iron helm could do the same. This is literally my entire gimmick, my zealot’s name is Heracles and he just does a bunch of single target damage. It’s especially to one shot the weak monstrosities. I should add the other caveat is my Crucis has high stat rolls, there could be a very slim breakpoint I’m hitting if you’re not one shotting them yourself.

Elite health increases disproportionately hurt T Hammer, Evic, and Chaxe.

Here’s where I’d like to see T Hammer at:

Its normal attacks are mostly fine, please FS do not make the weapon more bland by just making it more generalist. It’s ok for a weapon to have distinct strengths and weaknesses, people who suggest doing this never liked the weapon in the first place and simply want to turn it into a weapon they do like. These are the last people you should be listening to when balancing a weapon.

The only change to its normal attacks that makes sense to me is a slight single target buff for Crucis light attacks. There isn’t much of a situation for them currently, so making them better at quickly picking off remnants of a horde or squishy elites would have you using your full moveset more.

Crucis Special heavy attacks with good damage rolls and max thrust should one head shot a crusher, with a Carapace perk being a substitute to reach that breakpoint for people with less good stat rolls/have a lower tier of Thrust. Ironhelm should probably need either near perfect stats + Thrust + carapace perk or just live with using ults to get one shot.

Crucis Special lights should one shot any squishier elite without any particular bonuses, and without headshots (by squishier I mean anything with less health than a Rager, so gunners, shotgunners, and non mutie specials) and should one head shot Ragers with either the relevant damage perk or slaughterer stacks. Both T Hammers should be able to reach special heavy body shot breakpoint on Ragers without the need of Ult.

Shock and Awe should function like mini BM for special attacks. Killing the first taggable enemy you cleave with a special attack should allow it to pass to 1 other enemy while retaining first target damage, so if you line it up right you could potentially kill up to 2 elites per special attack with either Hammer, while ironhelm still has the added benefit of passing through a lot of trash at the same time. Giving this effect to a blessing rather than baking it into the hammers like some have suggested is more balanced and gives you more interesting build choices, with SnA then being a serious contender to slaughter for second blessing slot.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Oh and revert Ironhelm push attack heavy chain nonsense so I can finally recover from my ebola (real).

Yes. I’m sorry if there’s any confusion here but the Ironhelm can also oneshot crushers with Thrust and the right other perks but it requires basically a godroll on both hammers and you need to use Fury of the Faithful at a minimum. This is exactly what we were discussing as a weakness. It shouldn’t have to use your ultimate ability to oneshot ONE crusher. It should oneshot crushers on headshot every single time.

Yeah, considering all the caveats it should oneshot Crusher in the head. There’s already lot of stuff that can gib Crusher faster than you could activate + FotF heavy swing.

also tbh I like the idea of having easy access to overhead that they’re going for on Ironhelm, but it’s just bad change overall lol, just give it to Crucis instead or something.

Oh that’s good to know, guess I’ll have to roll a better Ironhelm, mine was one shotting before patch 14. After that, I just sacrificed that Ironhelm so I could get it’s thrust blessing. I much prefer the Iron helm, it’s much better at picking out an elite during a horde.

I don’t really mind using the ult to oneshot a crusher on principle. After all, the charge ult can have 2 charges and recharges very quickly. So, I don’t mind expending an ult for a single crusher kill if that’s all it was. But it’s not just the ult. The entire maneuver is just too much for the payoff. Activating the hammer, then ulting, then slowly power attacking until you finally get a kill, only to self stun yourself for a moment. Compared to trading an ult for a chaos warrior kill with shade or bounty hunter in Vermintide 2, we have a raw deal.

The other problem is getting a 2nd hit off when not using the ult is so awful. You are completely defenseless while activating the hammer and while power attacking. If there was a way to block while power attacking, like with the Bretonnian longsword in Vermintide 2, then I’d say fair game, but alas.

If you have a horde of crushers, zealot is just hopelessly outmatched by the plethora of options veteran has. Krak grenades, bolter fire, power sword, bleed out w/ frags, executioner stance with headhunter or revolver. Maulers, ragers, crushers, and monstrosities should be zealot’s preferred targets. Instead I’m stuck on special killing duty with a revolver and being the guy in the team with tons of wounds.

I agree with you that we need the thunderhammer to get some love. Removing thrust and increasing charged power attack damage to thrust levels sounds good to me, power attacking slowly is stupid. I would also like the activation animation just straight up removed. I hate watching the little half second of my zealot pressing the power button dramatically. It also makes the charged attack even slower than it needs to be. Just power the damned weapon up. If it were up to me, light attacks would be unpowered and quick, heavy attacks would be powered and slow, and the special attack does a stunning overhead.

i dunno, post build and weapon?

I’m away from home, sorry. Typing this from a work computer (shhh)
If I remember I’ll post it here.
