I live in the US. I never would have bought this game if I knew they’d go back on their promise to add solo mode. They’re deceivers, and frauds.

If they have then they need to be put in the spotlight. Complete scorch of their image; they shouldn’t be allowed to lie to our faces and get away with it. We’ve slammed shitty devs for such behaviour before; Fatshark shouldn’t be excluded because they’re “smaller.”
Liars should be exposed; and if they lied to us, they deserve any misfortune coming.

While I would caution y’all against expecting this to go anywhere (courts are bullsh*t) by all means make the attempt. If you actually start involving courts or consumer agencies it’s further evidence for the Book.
And if it somehow works I can point and laugh at the devs for trying to be scummy and getting smacked by the law.

well you really shouldnt do that.
its been what two and a half years? it was apparently close so close a CM made the mistake of talking about it. as to what derailed it they never said.
my guess is they dont want to provide servers for solo players, and the plan was to ship some sort of server lite architecture to players to self host solo games. and that just couldnt be done in the end, or more likely not without too much security risk.

I don’t buy that as it is perfectly doable with mods - just not with progression mechanics.
They could if they wanted and that they don’t is just their decision to not give a f..k about their promises and recurring wish of part of the player base.

As a Swede myself, I have to clarify that this is not America.
You cannot drag people to court because they look at you funny when crossing the street here, and even America-based game companies where some outspoken community member has previously discussed lawsuits, nothing has come of it because that is not how the law works, and the truth is that large corporations, not private individuals, wield power.
You can, however, make an inquiry with ‘Konsumentverket’, which should have been done earlier in the game’s lifecycle because you and I and most of the people on this forum have 100s to 1000s of hours played.
You should have refunded as soon as you realized there was no solo mode and waited to repurchase once it was added.
Use the tools at your disposal to voice your gripes; contact Fatshark’s community management, write on Reddit and post reviews on Steam.
If you dislike the way Fatshark handles things; stop buying their products, stop following them, stop interacting with their communities and write a negative review.
I’m not saying you’re wrong in your feelings about unfulfilled promises or Fatshark as a company, but you’re approaching it in the wrong way.

I mean, FS lied, who would have thought. But buying something explicitly advertised as coop and being surprised that it is a coop game is something else.
I did. They wouldn’t refund it because I played in order to prepare the other classes to act as my bots.

You can use a Mod to play Solo with and w/o Bots
I promise you, literally everyone here knows this. Its even been mentioned in this thread. But, like is always said when someone brings this up, mods are not and should not be a substitute for a feature that was explicitly stated shortly before launch to be almost finished, only for it to completely vanish from company mention over time.

Im not making a defence of FS here its just a guess as to why they are doing what they are not 
that mod doesn’t actually include any server architecture or logic it just uses the intro mission as a frame and replaces the map with whichever you choose, i thought it was surprisingly good for what it was and they defo could release that.
i assume they dont bother because well the mod exists.

More like it has absolutely nothing to do with cheaters.
Hard fact is that Darktide is a dying game and Obesetuna knows it. Instead of fixing the issues that are killing it, they’re pulling out all the tricks to hide that fact. One of those tricks is to artifically create as many “user interactions” as possible with the perfered method being forced grouping. After all if people are forced to play together than it gives the appearance of a decent number of active players to new people and the bean counters who only look at “metrics”. Solo mode would be a bolt round straight into the heart of that illusion. Not to mention that if people didn’t have to group then all the tryhards, sweatlords, toxic twits, etc would quickly find themselves forced to play together as the “casuals” could now play alone when their buddies aren’t around instead of having to put up with randomtwerp1011 just to get into a basic map.
Because as has been pointed out frequently, its not like Obesetuna would need to do any work. Literally. Just change private games from 2 minimum players to 1 and its done. I’m sure plenty of people can recall times when the rest of the group left a mission leaving only themselves and 3 bots.
Its not tech, its not cheats, or any of the dozens of excuses the various shills and simps throw out. Its all about trying to keep the illusion of a viable game going until the “new IP” can “save the studio”. Pfft. As if GW doesn’t already have enough reasons to pull their license to the only IP they have that actually turns a profit and is the only reason Tencent even gave them the time of day.
