Guys, let's be honest here: How accurate is this?

I speculated that it will be ganger because it fits, as is tech priest.

As for real reasons, it can be anything.

I think a part of the salt too is that one of the unique things the new class is bringing in are dual wielded weapons, which is something people have been requesting since launch. And to finally get it but have it locked behind a class when it makes total sense for other classes to also benefit from dual wielding leaves a bad taste.

Honestly, dual wielding a pistol and 1-handed melee weapon is ICONIC Warhammer 40k. Whether you’re talking veteran guards, priests, assault marines, gangers, cultists, eldar guardians/aspect warriors. Hell, there are probably more different units that have dual wielded weapons as a default than use full size rifles.

Worth noting that despite this all, it seems like the dual wielding here is either two ranged or two melee weapons, is significantly LESS common in 40k.

The Vermintide games set in Warhammer Fantasy has infinitely more melee/ranged dual wield weapon(s) than the Darktide game set in 40k.

As for Fatshark reasons, it was always gonna be ganger.

got something on your nose there, wash your hands after you wipe it off

On a serious note it’s absolutely insane how people can say “Hive Scum seems a bit uninteresting” and you instantly have people come out with “WELL WHAT YOU WANTED WASN’T EVEN HINTED AT”. Like ok? Is your only defense to Hive Scum being uninteresting that nothing else was hinted at? It’s some twitter mindset stuff where if you don’t like X you must be a Y fan and Y fans are the enemy and evil

Im not complaining about that here, let’s stick to the subject at hand. Go to my other post if you want to talk about that. The fact you still didnt address anything and instead chose to attack me because of things I posted on an entirely different thread kind of proves that everything I said was right.

Doesn’t matter.

What does matter is the fact FS ignoring one of the most popular community requests since day one for a few years already.

It’s actually insane how you’re being dogpiled for saying, in essence “People don’t like hive scum thematically because it’s power progression wise below arbites so it feels like we regressed into something more basic”

And the responses to this people can bring are

  1. you must be a fanboy of that other thing
  2. you must be sexist

It’s almost beyond parody

When no argument is left start clowning and trolling with stupidity, bring insults and devalue the conversation with “why do you care” and 'it’s just a game", add some emoji for a better ragebite

----IMPORTANT COPE----
Steam reviews doesn’t matter. Devs don’t care about metrics. Neither shareholders
Online doesn’t matter for the same reason, i just need 3 more people
DLC sales don’t affect cash influx and future content

I will cope by hyping up GSC for the next disappointment.:joy:

Arbites original things:

  • Dog
  • ranged shield weapon (just 1)

Hive Scum original things:

  • Create your own drug
  • dual weapons (3 ranged, 2-3 melee)

I don’t really see how Arbites “brought a lot more”

What you’re quoting is a series of words that do not appear in my post?

Look, it’s not mechanical crunch. Hive Scum has some interesting stuff there with rocket launchers and the chem tree. Good potential maybe.

It’s presentation. Arbites was a brand new exciting companion dog build, sure, but far more important than that was that it had something cool and unique to it with the Judge Dredd cosplay and everything else. People couldn’t be Arbites beforehand.

Hive Scum didn’t present itself as something new and exciting outside of the context of regular Darktide players. We’ve already seen crackhead Zealots and Veterans running around, it’s not ‘new’ in the same way.

Gunslinger just sounds like how I play a shredder pistol zealot, but now I have the option to $$pay$$ to make it easier with complementary skills.

I was excited of getting something new and cool.

Like the Arbites, something different from what the classes we have now.

That gang character is not much different from what we have now.

Nothing special.

It adds nothing to the game.

About the Mechanicus, I have the right to have hope that is going to be a AdMech char.

But both things are independent, one from the other.

Gotta be real honest here, this meme is about as neckbeard-ey as the “leave the multi-million dollar company alone” meme as it’s possible to get, mainly because from an actual business perspective, this should be pretty embarassing for Fatshark.

If the market is sending a clear and consistent signal as to it’s wants and demands, and you fail to meet that demand multiple times and instead release something the market wasn’t strongly demanding, you’re probably missing out on sales and revenue and damaging your product’s value proposition.

Yeah, it’s actually crazy how rigid some of the people on here are. The name calling and blatant insults over something that honestly isn’t even that serious is crazy lol and yet we need to touch grass? As if they’re not sitting here getting mad and typing whole essays over what some rando on an internet forum as to say. I haven’t said anything that bad if you read my replies. But of course instead of addressing any points, they jump straight to insults in an attempt to shut down any reasonable, fair, and honest discussion

There are far better people with far better and structured arguments here that are worth discussion. Even if I disagree with ragnarok, there’s at least substance there that I can understand and relate to and find something to talk about. If your only complaint about hive scum is that it’s lame and you wanted some other power fantasy, or that you don’t find the women hot enough, go pound sand.

It’s a pure aesthetic argument and if all you’re going to do when you’re called out on it is make yourself the victim then I don’t see the point in discussion.

Is that what the post you replied to in this thread says?

I dont think Hive Ganger is lame, Im actually pretty hyped.

FS always delivers when it comes to new classes and their only mistake is always making them OP on release then taking a while to whittle down their power to acceptable levels.

I realize I forgot to address this but:

Not really? It’s about presentation. Arbites sold a particular unique fantasy that wasn’t just crackhead behavior that already makes up the majority of players who know what they’re doing.

It’s not about literal mechanical differences outright, but a lack of those coupled with a lack of a compelling and unique archetype. The Arbites trailers did a good job selling the Judge Dredd cosplay fantasy. Hive ganger did not do a good job selling the crackhead scum fantasy, and it was hurt further by people already DOING crackhead stuff in game coupled with some talent choices virtually identical to base game class picks.

Like a tech adept class could show up and regardless of how interesting the mechanics are, if the trailer is a generic ‘do something action hero style with zero dialogue’ approach with a character who looks like any other reject but with an augmentic eye and a single robot arm people are probably gonna dunk on it.
