Grimore/Scriptures Should Be Retrievable After Being Downed

The current system Grimore and Scriptures completely being unrecoverable when a player goes down just feels bad and should be tweaked, particularly with how many you have to collect to be able to complete weeklies. The majority of the time you are playing with randoms, and I surmise that will likely be the preferred method until solo play is introduced and the kinks in bot AI gets ironed out. I would wager that I am not alone in this scenario: you have a random squishy teammate grab the book and then charge solo into a horde of armored specials and die. I think good players shouldn’t be punished for the impulsive stupidity of their randomly selected teams. Have the book drop like the med kit or ammo that also occupy that slot, or if that makes it too easy, have the book spawn somewhere ahead of the players to be found again. If a single player clutches for a team that goes down, isnt that deserving of the reward of not losing their secondary objective progress or at least having the chance to get it back?

The books disappearing in Vermintide wasn’t so bad because it just shifted your loot table a little bit and were in consistent and easy to find locations. In Darktide there is far more progress and reward tied to the ability to consistently get books, and they are much more difficult to consistently find due to the increased number of possible spawn locations. Because of that, the mechanic needs some sort of balance so players don’t get hamstrung by the incompetency of others. Having to deal with random idiots constantly losing books by making flagrantly stupid choices and slowing your weekly progress to a crawl just feels bad and demotivates players from playing outside of the times they can get a squad of people they know on at the same time.

Scriptures are retrievable, for grimoires it’s probably as intended
It was the same way in in Vermintide 2
