As they are right now, the books (Grimoires and Scriptures) are simply not worth the equipment slot they take up in the majority of cases.
Scriptures are at least fine to take because they’re not actively detrimental. Grimoires are a hard avoid due to the harm they cause.
While there’s a number of things that could be done to fix this, I personally propose the following:
Finishing the mission with a Scripture held by a party member grants a 1.15x modifier for all mission rewards per book. This includes Dockets, Experience and Plasteel/Diamantine. (total = 145% rewards)
Grimoires will reward a 1.30x modifier per book instead. (total = 160% rewards)
I think this would make the books - Grimoires in particular - very desirable to seek out.
But the rewards on the books is already huge.
And it’s not even a good incentive anyway. Most long-term players are swimming in dockets and what not. They just ignore those books anyway.
Full book runs at this point are for fun and challenge in my book. I don’t see any other use in them.
20-25% extra gold (and that’s only if you can actually find all the books) is not “huge” when you’re forfeiting items and/or half your team’s HP. It’s not even enough to buy a grey weapon in most cases.
Most long-term players are swimming in dockets and what not.

This includes Dockets, Experience and Plasteel/Diamantine.
I’d gleefully start doing full-book runs if I got 45-60% extra Plasteel from them.
