Grim Protocols - New Weapons - Dev Blog

Ah, I see. Not sure about the very specifics and what the differences are, but I do know they’re belt fed LMGs, and it’s what the Scab/Dreg gunners use in game. Thank you for the correction though lol.

Next year…vauge. i mean we “didnt have long to wait” for solo w bots either and here we are. Vets have been abandoned until proof is shown.

Volleygun are heavier variants of Hotshot, but it’s more about anti infantry than anti armour

I do find it weird that they decided to more or less just leave a class out of getting something new for an update. Hopefully they have something good planned, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

okay, but what about the vet? the vet should get something too, and this is coming from a class that MAINS zealot, we’re eating good, vet has been starved of exclusive options for melee for too long, give the power sword to vet too!

See my memory is real iffy but I had a feeling that the Volleyguns were “heavier” in some way. Thank you as well haha

Would you it have been preferable to have no weapon this update and have weapon release for each arche later ?

Turns out Mistress Ranni’s voyage through the stars lasted over 40k years.

Hype. As. F*ck.

If they’re too lazy to rework the Vet sword the least they could do is buff Power Cycler then, or buff the sword at base so it’s got a couple more powered attacks. Crazy to me how the normal power sword is still gonna be forced to have power cycler on it, but this new one for the Zealots is gonna have all new blessings, won’t be forced into power cycler, and will most definitely have more powered attacks at base.

This new power sword also better have a crazy mobility penalty just like the Vets too, or else I just call straight bs on this one

Was gonna say, this is just MLGS all over again.

Really happy with all of this, mildly disappointed in vet power sword not getting the same makeover, but overall - excellent comms, love everything discussed here, and that force greatsword is hype. Excited for the new update!

Finally, weapon design going in the right direction!
You will not belive ammount of rage I feel when I compare damage from autoguns with .50 cal Ogryn weapons. IT’S A CARKING ANTI-MATERIAL ROUND (well… in 40k it’s anty lowform Tyranid round… or anti-heretic_nonruinouspowerblessed round).

I swear, I will take FS team (max 2-3 of those poor guys/galls responsible for coding damage) to the range with balistic gel substitute-substitute as targets to check for penetration, bullet deformation and stopping power.
I’m not paying for the tickets to US though… (just because I have to fly there, doesn’t mean I’ll get a discount).

WHY ON ONE OF THE VARIANTS (of Ogryn twin-linked stubber) DAMAGE OF TWO .50 CAL ROUNDS IS LOWER THAN INTERMIDIATE CARTRIDGE OF A KARKING AUTOGUN?!

Sorry, nerd rage.

Anyway, Good to have more info from ya @FatsharkStrawHat!

Oh, I do so love to nerd out about this! I’m a former Support Rifleman, you see…

Dreg Gunners use Heavy Stubbers and Scab Gunners use Hot-shot Volley Guns.

The main difference between the two being that Heavy Stubbers are a type of ballistic weapon, whilst Hot-shot Volley Guns are a type of laser weapon.

The riddle has been solved and the code cracked. I will take this as confirmation of class specific updates happening next year and will hope for more psyker staves, whenever the psyker update happens.
No, I don’t double check my work.

That’s quite literally what I indicated, yeah.

Hotshot Lasgun is lighter, while the Hotshot Volleygun is more anti-armor

Other way around

→ Hotshot Volleygun is lighter, while the Hotshot lasgun is more anti-armor

Hotshot Lasgun aren’t more anti armor either.

Waiting on the inevitable review bomb by vets because they didn’t get new toys.

Other than that cool blog.
