well, if your teammates aren’t that busy with things like setting one foot in front of the other that they don’t notice anything external, like pings and chat messages 
i’ve pinged my deployed crate so often, even typed “meds”, and seen them keep running until they fell over.

I have Weapon Special Attacks tied to Caps Lock because my Mouse doesn’t have Mouse 5.
It’s surprisingly comfortable there to me, to a point where I even deliberately bound Weapon Special Attacks to Caps Lock in Vermintide 2 as well.
I just use it for the automated “gg” at the end of a successful mission. Afaik you can have some automatic things like crates and entering/leaving as well as hotkey things.
If you’re conformable editing a list in a file you can write your own messages. For some reason I’ve met three different players with the entire Krieg litany of atonement bound to hotkey. They get very excited when they see a fellow gasmasker with a helbore.
