Get rid of aquilas

Aquilas NEED to go. let us see the real full price of the product your selling fatshark instead of using manipulative scummy tactics that you KNOW are scummy since you didnt do this in V2. cosmetics are fine and id love to support them but not if your going to act like some scummy mobile game

collective action is ramping up, hope theyā€™re watching.

this is a licenced product, if tencent wonā€™t budge games workshop atually might, or more speicifically their investors.

You got the choice

either aquilas that give fs and gw lots of money and free content updates

or

paid content updates which may or may not divide the playerbase

itā€™s only cosmetics (lets hope it stays that way), if that is the price to pay Iā€™ll gladly take it

no one is opposed to giving money it how they treat us in trying to get it.

Also this thread exists now:

I think idea of having a premium currency instead of direct purchase was a bad idea as well. However, the biggest problem is that there is no way to earn the premium currency in-game!

Generally, when games have premium currency, the purpose of it existing is so that it can be earned through gameplay. Grinding out cosmetics is a HUGE motivation for people to keep playing, even if hundreds of hours is necessary to earn a full set for a character. I know that Iā€™m TOTALLY guilty of this in the online games I play, and I love the feeling of earning a set of cosmetics from gameplay instead of paying cash.

Of course, this is a VERY healthy thing for the game, because even if Iā€™m not paying cash, Iā€™m one of the people actually RUNNING MISSIONS and keeping the game alive! Itā€™s one of the best way to retain players.

So Iā€™d be fine with Aquilas if they could be earned in the game. Hell, this one change would make the currency a NET POSITIVE for the community and the game in general.

False, there are many ways to leverage 40K brand power without FOMO Premium currency.

Its not that there is a cash shop, its that its implemented in a very bad way. Indypride explained it quite well in his vid.

This is a free mobile game cash shop setup. They can do better.

Agree, that would be a step in the right direction. If they removed the FOMO rubbish and made the ā€˜grindā€™ reasonable.

Exactly. Guild Wars 2 is an example of a cash shop with premium currency done right. You can earn basic currency in-game that can be directly converted into premium currency to buy cosmetics that are perpetually available. They do have seasonal stuff that rotates in and out, and Iā€™m mostly fine with that. They do also have boosts (experience boosts), and Iā€™m not really fine with that, but itā€™s a relatively small concern.

Iā€™ve been playing GW2 for a long time and, as such, my account has a lot of extra character slots, storage space, costumes, pets, etc. all earned in-game. I only buy expansion packs (I buy the ā€œcollectorā€™s editionsā€ to provide some extra support), but thatā€™s it because I donā€™t have money to burn.

This does mean that I play the game a lot, because I enjoy it! Itā€™s not like ArenaNet isnā€™t benefiting from me because Iā€™m not throwing cash at them; my characters are out in the world, helping new players, queuing up for group content, etc.

Aquilas definitely need to be earnable to justify their existence. I donā€™t see why they canā€™t make a small amount of aquilas (150-250) a part of that bonus reward you get for completing all of melks weekly missions, or otherwise let you convert those tokens he gives you since theres not a whole lot you can get there you cant get in other ways.

It would reward players for participating in the game long term by rebating their time with something of monetary equivalent value, while ensuring that there is still a soft limit to how much you can get per week so that it doesnā€™t completely undermine FSā€™s cash shop revenue stream to keep them and their investors happy. Considering its an existing in game system it would be relatively easy to implement too.

Remove the limited time BS for cosmetics and make them individually available and it would mean that players can set long term goals to get more cool cosmetics by playing without going through penances.
