FFS, am I the only one who clears room and when I turn around they’re filled to the brim?
Am I the only one who puts his back to the wall and starts getting hit by enemies that merrily appeared behind his back?
This might shock you, but the walls that look like doors are actuall doors enemies can enter multiple times from. Even if you clear a room. Hence the name spawn door. Not to mention specials being spawned out of sight anyway.
Clearing a room is useless if you don’t keep checking your back regularily, hence the requirement for situational awareness. It’s the way the FS AI director works.
Oh really? thank god mr observer arrived to tell me! I’m talking about walls, walls without doors.
Hence why positioning means jack sh*t, since anything can appear anywhere, even in empty rooms from a completely empty space, or in some occasions from thin air in front of your eyes…
Tell me you’re bad at the game without telling me.
Positioning means taking that into account and moving accordingly, like I don’t know… not standing with spawn doors in your back maybe? Or placing yourself in a way that you’ve got at least on teammate behind you?
If you can’t come to these simple conclusions yourself it’s no surprise that you’re resorting to sarcasm and being mad lol
This is such an obvious lie. Terrain advantage is often huge and smart kiting routes save runs regularly.
Being pissed off about thin air spawns is fair enough but cut the absurd extrapolation please.
you’re not understanding what I’m talking about with the spawns I’ve seen. I’ll try and explain it better but theres only so much detail I can go into because I can only do my best to describe it and I can’t always paint the right picture no matter how I word things. I know to stick with the group I know not to run ahead I know too shove pox bursters to dodge trappers and sniper sights I’ve learned those basics and all the others from tips from players or watching people better than me and emulating them as I said “I’m good but I’m not great” there’s a difference between having an ego and knowing you’re worth for example I’ve only been able to beat the twins 2 times out of probably at least 14 goes on damnation and I’ve never even lasted 10 minutes on auric but I can play comfortably on damnation with modifiers because I’ve sunk a ton of time into playing and upgrading my gear to its best. What I’m talking about is when you’re in a hallway with your squad moving as a group through a narrow path only big enough for one ogryn at a time and then hoards with multiple bombers and flamers pop up from in front and behind you with area effect damage in an area where there is no space to maneuver away. You can’t play the floor is lava if there is only lava and nowhere to jump to. or like you mentioned with the gunners (That is in fact an example of what I mean about unfair numbers spawning in places so tight I’ve had that happen before too but less often then with fire attacks) Edit One more thing I’m aware that as far as this post goes I could just be yet another salty gamer on the internet who sucks at the game because you’ve never met and played with me so bet. If you want I can PM you my discord so we can do some matches of darktide together on damnation and you can judge my skills for yourself. best case scenario I prove you wrong worst case you give me some pointers to improve my playing if there’s one thing that darktide has taught me its that you learn how to play better by listening and watching the old guard.
I wont deny that positioning is vital that’s 100% true I don’t even care that they can spawn from doors and from ledges I just wish fewer would spawn in really tight spaces instead of randomly sometimes I’ll walk down a hall with my team and see 3 poxers and sometimes on a different go at the same mission we go down the same hallway and there’s an entire army.
No, at this point positioning has changed meaning and it has become “always look your back because anything can happen”.
“positioning” has become “always have an escape route”, which are 2 very different things.
And I stand by what I said: position means jack sh*t in a game where enemies can fall on your head from the floor above or railings impossible to reach for the player.
“hmm enemies keep jumping down from that railing above every time I pass this spot in the map… must be random. Better just stand right below it- AAARGH FKING POSITIONING! WHY CAN’T I REACH THEMM BALAANCEE AAAAH1!!!”
Most skilled average darktide player, everyone.
yeah, because there is 1 railing in all the maps.
And enemies don’t just jump over fences and walls.
And enemies don’t spawn right behind your back once you walk around a corner.
Yep, I must be an idiot.
The only part of Darktide which is rigged is the crafting / itemisation system. Everything else is a matter of getting better at the game, and yes that includes faiure. Don’t ask to lower the highest game dificulties levels to your level, get better or if you want to relax, play on slightly easier difficulty/modifiers. The game caters to different skill levels, why would you want to deny part of the community their fun?
Fix the bugs for sure, but leave the highest difficulty levels alone, for those who want that challenge.
I cannot believe this has to be repeated all the time.
Nope, the game is absolutely unfair.
I’m not asking to make it easier, I play auric for a reason, I just recognise its difficulty is generated through unfairness.
When you clear every enemy, walk into a small room to loot, you turn to get out and 3 ogryns are saying “hi” behind their shields, the game is being unfair.
In before someone comes merrily saying idiotic things like “EnEmIes sPaWn FroM tHe DOoRs!”, no, they spawn anywhere as long as nobody’s looking… and sometimes even when somebody’s looking.
I’m not asking for that I’m asking for hordes of hundreds to spawn in places you have room to dodge and maneuver instead of 100 of them in a pill box. The hoard size and composition doesn’t need to change where they spawn do, I don’t know why people think that would make the game less hard it wouldn’t, it would improve the gameplay and give the player a fair shot at winning or failing based on their reaction time and reflexes you can’t do that in a pillbox more heretic than floor space. Yes, you can still get outflanked in open spaces too but when that happens it’s because you made a mistake in herding the hoard not because you were sandwiched in a hallway with hundreds that pincer you from both sides. I’m not talking about going Leroy Jenkins and charging in to die dumb I’m talking about the times me, and my mates cleared the whole hoard start moving down the hallway and suddenly a swarm pours out front and back of us halfway down the hall where we can’t even dodge without bumping into each other. Positioning and moving is key to the gameplay so what are you supposed to do when you can’t move in the first place? I know ambushes are a thing and I can only explain what I keep seeing so well with words, but my beef is only when huge hoards spawn in places too tight to fight them fairly. Edit also the section of my comment you sliced out left out the part where I mentioned the issue was not the hoard composition to make it sound like I was criticizing something I wasn’t what I actually said was “there is a difference between a hard game and a rigged game and an issue I keep running into is that when massive hordes of ragers, maulers, and specialists spawn they spawn in places that are just stupid.” You left out that my issue was with spawn locations not spawned opponents which is misleading.
I only Quickplay Auric Damnation with random players and get roughly the same numbers. And I like that.
Though I’ve recently started to bail out of games where the team composition doesn’t look right. As a Zealot, I really appreciate Psykers with dome and Gunlugger Ogryns as they perfectly complement my build.
I’m also thinking about whether I should bail out of games where I two teammates speedrunning. Those almost always end in failure.
Kek I must have gotten to you, mr I plAy aUriC fo AH rEEson.
Just step down the difficulty if you can’t handle it. Everyone else on auric seems fine with it, hell we’ve been asking for harder stuff for ages. Because unlike your sorry ass, some people enjoy a challenge and don’t have ego’s that get hurt by a loss. It’s like I’m talking to a personified version of the term ‘skill issue’ lol
If you can’t tell the difference between challenge and poor implementation I can’t help you.
Hordes go were you are, if you think that you are in a bad spot for dealing with one go to where it’s more convenient for you ti fight it.
