For the Arbites class, I really like the range of cosmetics for the dog, covering everything from ‘clearly cyborg’ to ‘almost robot.’
However, I’d like to throw in a suggestion for a future cosmetic that goes in the opposite direction! Something that looks more like a dog, with either no augmetics or minimal ones (like just one eye, or something similar).
The community release on sound design implied that Fatshark’s design philosophy for the dog was to create a full range for the dog, everything from ‘dog’ to ‘cyborg’ to ‘robot.’ The ‘cyborg to robot’ half of that spectrum seems well represented - and I’d be happy to see more releases there, too!
But I admit, I was also looking forward to making something with a lot of fur I could pet. (The ‘pet’ emote is wonderful and I keep using it after basically every mission, because my dog is a good boy. But I keep imagining how uncomfortable it is to pet metal, questioning how much the dog feels it if I’m not petting real fur, etc. I just think it would just be neat to have a less-cyberized cosmetic for the dog, especially since I can’t see how it would hurt anything, since Fatshark is always doing new cash shop options.)
I totally agree…
At a DLC price, we cannot talk about micro transactions. I think they wanted to introduce predatory prices like we can see in phone games that are paid to win.
The worse is… this is working. A lot buy their cosmetics. And I am sure a lot will also for Arbites. Who care if you have to buy again same accessories ou slightly modified but with DIFFERENT color. Are you happy?
It seems that there are players that ask for more… can’t believe that players are supporting such policies.
We have seen games where the devs / publisher, because of complaints, have stopped their plan to monetize too much.
With such players, we would have all games as a pay to win.
Next step, the weapons sold one by one at 10€ each and the pack deluxe at 20 € with 2 recolors! I fear that they would buy even such “offer”.
