Free Update - Battle For Tertium

Yeah, but you will be kicked probably.

What I mean is that they implement this because of the complains of the guys that think that your level shows the difficulty you can clean (something totally wrong as I have seen level around 20 more useful than a level 30).

I don’t believe that they let a new character jumping in a maelstrom mission. If the limit is about missions done, I expect that linked to your character and not account based.

Need to test, but all that looking like a good changes.

Not on the level of Chaos Wastes replaybility, CW added tones of new maps, even tho they were a bit generic, but still. Budget horde mode, will die fast.

Them fixing their own mistakes.

Weaves 2.0. Infinitely worse than Deeds or Twitch mode. Not realy a new mode, just an auric+ with separated modifiers for some reason.

Should have been on release.

Orthus Offensive has no replaybility value.

Maps are again green and brown corridors, no new biomes.

Poxbomber was datamined on release. Chaos spawn is a slight redesign from V2. Still no Stormfiend equivalent, despite it also was datamined (plague orgyn with tox flamer)

Try again when there will be stormvermin and shielded stormvermin equivalents, trash mobs with destructable shields, enemy casters, new lords aside from the officer. Like you know, as it was in V2 on release. New biomes like jungle or winter.

This but unironicaly.

Skill issue

Defo the biggest update to date with the most fundamental changes.

Let’s hope it all works as intended

Good stuff, Fatshark!

Perhaps. However if a person cleared some high difficulty with 1 character, he will aknowledge it’s not a good thing to jump on the high difficulty with a new character having empty skill tree.

Anyway there is no perfect solution, but gating people via basic skill check trials is better than ragequit fest we currently have. It’s overall will be a net positive in the longterm even if there will be a bit more grind. Also iirc they buffed exp you gain on lower difficulties.

Ahm… when you are done with all this drama and crying, maybe you should try havok and trials. Make some friends who can carry you until you can carry yourself if that’s the case. I bet you will have a great time with some victories wetting your dry mind…

In my honest opinion if they want to add a new weapon for Vet there is the option of a Plasma Pistol, but given how they seem to not be able to properly balance the original weapon, who knows how that will go.

There is also still some weapon patterns we are missing for certain weapons, and overall they could add bayonets to the guns as a special switch option that ā€œimoā€ should have been a feature for every autogun and lasgun by default.

It could create some interesting theory crafting since bayonets I believe stack with melee talents. At least the Ogryn’s does.

Great changes! Hooking new players with even more cinematics in a structured campaign is a smart move. Not everybody gets hooked by the combat out the gate. And I’m excited to play through that!

Mission board changes are excellent, and the added variety there will be nice.

And, although I rarely had issues with too many people playing truly out of their depth, I think the difficulty unlocking sounds good so long as the penalty for losing is indeed very minor.

All in all, looks like loads of feedback has been incorporated here, and this update looks like a big win!

Side note about this: I’m a Lore Nerd so I’m gonna be going ham on this to see what we get. I sincerely hope it’s better than the old ā€˜we don’t trust you, do more missions’ nonsense of launch.

You can play malice easily at level 2 or 3… same for heresy, once you could jump, it was fine.
Of course… if you know what you do.
