Fix them. You can pull a perfect push, and they still just decide they jump you. They can have jumped 10 feet behind you, but suddenly are on top of you. Pathing is still horrible. Being a disabler, they can single-handedly ruin a clutch with a disable that you can do NOTHING about if the server just decided you got jumped.
It is rather unconscionable that you would add a special modifier to missions featuring your worst and buggiest special enemy (or at least, who’s bug can ruin a run more than others). Trappers can be very consistently dodged. Mutants are more buggy, but aren’t a complete disabler. But hounds ruin games.
Agreed, Hounds are the only enemy in the game I’m not not confident I can dodge. For everything else when it gets me I feel like I screwed up. With Hounds I feel like the game cheated.
Until they fix dodging it, I’ve found that switching to melee and constantly spamming push is a more reliable way to stop them. As a bonus, it also has a chance of sending them flying several feet into the air.
You can no longer dodge them. They will just pounce you anyway. Pushing is the ONLY way to counter the charge, and it is horrifically inconsistent. That’s what this post is about. As Aetrion said, when I get hit by some other special, I know I screwed up, but the hound–the game cheated.
