I am rather relieved if solo-players wont be in the game though, because when they start playing in a group they are extremely bad because they are adapted to bots supporting them on every step, which causes the solo-players to lack the experience with teamplay.
Iād say 650 power bots are generally better than most legend players and below. Not because they output more damage or anything, but purely because they stick right beside the player, and adequately kill specials etc. they drop off hard in cata and above though.
I remember when I was doing legend book runs I would have much more consistent games with a full bot team.
That didnāt change the fact that myself, and Iām sure many others, still prefer playing with others even if it means the success rate of my missions would take a slight dip. So I donāt think having adequate bots would detract from the overall co op aspect of the game.
the incentive to play with others is ⦠the fact that the game is coop
I just want private match option so I can do solo runs for challange one I get bored of Damnation difficulty.
I play pretty much exclusively with my brother. He and I are introverted gremlins who dislike the presence of strangers and always play without matchmaking where that is an option. We both have distinct party roles that we enjoy filling, plus we often enjoy exploring the environment at our own pace. Adding randos to that just adds unnecessary stress because now there are these other people rushing on ahead, competing for kills, etc., and suddenly thereās pressure that there wasnāt before because if we donāt keep up then weāre interfering with their ability to also play the gameā¦
I donāt care about the presence or absence of bots. Back in the day when we played L4D / L4D2 together we would deliberately kill our bots in the safe room, so a āpure 2Pā experience is just fine with us. But weād better have the option to disable matchmaking and play a private game.
I do hope to see bots make their way into the game as well, especially if we would be allowed to modify which classes they play and whatnot.
The problem with playing with randies is purely due to the fact that vast majority of them are mute rushers in my experience. They will outright refuse to communicate, will try to blitz through the level as fast as they possibly can and will waste or hog resources just to benefit themselves. When me and my friends played the beta, out of probably 40 games we did, only 3 times did I come across someone that wasnāt a mute or one that tried to at least be doing teamwork.
It is even worse in Darktide now that the game relies heavily on cohesion and sticking together. Having to suffer one of these people is infuriating since you are inherently getting gimped since they will refuse to remain in cohesion since for them, being able to finish the mission in 20 seconds earlier means their slave collar wonāt blow up, at least based on how much focus they put on the said speedrunning.
So yeah, I would very, very much prefer if the option for bots remains. I would much rather have a bot that contributes a little that can be commanded with simple commands like āNeed Ammoā or āNeed Healingā as they have significantly higher chance at being useful over your average randie.
I agree with this. At least, make other randies, who rush ahead , never help, be marked, and be acceptable, to be kicked from the team, and put a mark on them,(maybe 1 week or longer) so other players know not to accept them in the party. If this is only going to be a true co-op, then, make the randies accountable.
Or, just keep the bots, problems solved.
Now, let the crying commence.
i donāt agree with the āmarkā idea
itās a VERY bad idea
but yeah: being able to launch a game with only bot or with a small squad of 2-3 and bot should be in the game
Yeah, I definitely am on board on the no marking system. Foxhole is a prime example of what happens when something like that is introduced, it will be abused by toxic groups just for the fun of it as moderating it can be nigh impossible so they wonāt have any repercussions.
However, kicking is something I can agree on, but I wouldnāt penalise people because toxic groups would abuse the system. If I get kicked because a trio wants to do their own run, annoying but not completely rage-inducing. However, if I was kicked and then marked arbitrarily because a trio of ***** decided that it would be funny to do it, thatās another issue entirely.
worse being kicked at the end of a mission becauseā¦
Also worth note: Not having an option to launch with bots will drastically reduce this games lifespan as the queues begin to thin out.
honestly i donāt know if we can or canāt launch with bots
they were enough people during the beta so i didnāt see it
but i hope we will have this option (or at least after 10-15 sec without enough people the game start with bots)
During beta I did launch into a mission with 3 bots.
I choose mission and during 2 minutes timer in lobby no one joined, so game started with bots and when I was in mission during next 5 minutes I got full team
i played late at night and when there wasnt players to fill in the lobby the game just started and filled the left slots with bots
Completely agreed. I have no issue playing with randoms but mute rushers are the worst and just makes me wish for bot teammates instead.
Hell, Iād be more than content if the current system for bots in VT2 made it over to DT. Just let me set their equipment/class and allow me to give them rudimentary commands on what to pick up and thatās it.
Agreed with sentiment to have option to play with bots but majority of people are muted in games like that though. Rushers usually just die and rage quit so I am not worry about them ![]()
There are no elves in this one so you donāt have to worry about rushers going up ahead and dying. True story.
was going to play thing with my brother but no bots means ill have to refund
And how did you know they were Solo players and not just shitty players in general?
Play Cata and Legend in Vermintide and youāll find 40% of the time players are straight up worse than bots.
But most importantly of allā¦bots arenāt annoying at bunny hopping to every location, spamming crouch over dead monsters, and friendly firing behind your head. In fact I donāt think bots are even capable of friendly fire. And unlike players, bots actually have decent load outs because itās you who control them and not someone who thinks Repeater Pistol are good weapons to bring on Cata.
Put another wayā¦bots may not hit the same skill ceilings as players, but atleast theyāre consistent and donāt rush off ahead to get themselves killed or randomly afk. Iāve had more games lost because of bad players than bots because I actually control my bots loadouts and how they behave.
Congrats⦠I was not understanding what I was reading then I realized that it was a thread started in july 2022.
Really, congrats for this thread that you have dig up from a time where DT had not even released
(and you answered someone 13 months after⦠I hope he was not waiting for an answer)
