Fatshark don't nerf the dog (serious)

Ignore what this forum says, the dog is the main appeal and unique feature of the class, if you nerf the dog arbites is a boring glorified zealot

you should do the opposite nerf lone wolf, stagger talents, cstance, nerf arbites maul and shotgun if needed, keep the dog build viable… zealot and vet are already close enough we don’t need a 3rd standard human class

Today I played with an Arbitrator whos dog did more damage than the actual player. Ggs.

Well, I mean, as long as that’s a consequence of his build and playstyle and not something broken like the 450% melt I don’t see that as necessarily being a problem

Yes if you go full support/dog build and left tree it should be strong, I see many posts asking for dog to be gutted but then we’ll get another standard generic human class #3

the whole gimmick of the class is the dog, if you make it useless I want a refund

Lone Wolf is literally weaker than the dog build. Nerfing the dog doesn’t make it unusable.

unique feature of the class. Autoplay win mode. So exciting. This unique feature don’t respect the others players and make players unlearn the game and give a sh***t ton of bad habits.

Nerfing or removing Concussive for sometjing else would solve a lot of the balancing issues with Arbites.

One way dog could be “nerfed” without nerfing it directly is putting a cooldown on manual player targeting, or a cooldown on it being able to release players from Muties/Hounds. Or just let the dog targetable by certain enemies, with a cooldown on death. Dog respawns after cooldown ends.

It just does too much. It’s more efficient to just nerf Concussive than adjust every Talent it synergizes with. Good starting point, then go from there. :man_shrugging:

Yeah. It’s the lynchpin that eliminates the one weakness of Skullcrusher and all the stagger synergy talents.

And having no weaknesses is basically the issue here.

No, that would kill the Dog build. This is prob the worst idea.
The Dog is fine, the things that need to be adjusted are the Arbite Shock Maul and some of the Stagger talents.

Dog nullifying 2/3 disablers for players while melting through Elites is not “fine”. I’d rather not see the dog rendered useless either, but we can at least agree being effective as they are against freeing players from disablers encourages bad habits and “loner” issues.

The Dog alone cannot melt through Elites, plus it can only attack One target at a time.
It was melting through Elites was due to a bug with the Dog Bleed, which is now fixed.
But they came out with a Hotfix so fast that it caused alot of the Arbite keystones not working.

And now we have to wait until August for them to release the next patch which is supposed to fix these Keystones.

this is not true. the dog can solo a level if you just hide behind a shield.

If you cannot compete without the dog-bot doing the work for you, just LOWER THE DIFFICULTY.

As it is the Arbites class needs massive nerfs, it’s just silly in it’s current state.

that uses doggo to stun clusters of enemies or the odd boss ?

(yeah when there’s a chunky 12xshotgunner blob i spam that electro-button :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

uses the gimped left tree and still top off about every match ridiculously and “undeserved” ?

that class needs a 85% recalibration before underachievers and slackers make it their new norm with how little effort they can trick themselves into thinking they’re providing something of “worth” to the match.

As is always the case, nuance is lost on the internet and everyone just shouts past each other.

‘Nerf’ doesn’t have to mean ‘becomes useless’, I hate the PvP player mindset getting dragged into this games discussions like just because something goes from ‘broken’ to ‘good’ it’s suddenly unusable. If you can’t make something you like work, there’s a massive swath of difficulty options for a reason. This isn’t Marvel Rivels, just because we want something to stop trivializing the top end doesn’t mean your baby is suddenly not going to work (at least not inherently, it largely just depends on what FS does).

But as it stands, games basically ruined for a vast amount of the dedicated player base because you don’t have to play it anymore. I broke it down in another post, but the main pain points that NEED to be addressed (I don’t even care about the dog getting the arbite out of things, what’s truly making them a problem is):

  • Razor-Jaw Augment

  • Concussive

The former is what truly makes the dog actively a ‘for free win button’. Instead of light staggering/knocking over the wave as it pounces, hitting 1 target, and causing THAT TARGET to be functionally eliminated from the game, the dog is a free shredder grenade every 4-5 seconds ON TOP of doing that. Bleed is already insanely potent, much less applying 8 STACKS of it every time the dog does anything to everything it passes through. That kills a poxwalker on it’s own, and double kills it if the dog pounces twice (which it will often do if it’s jumping at say, a Crusher or Bulwark to stun it with electrocute damage). This combined with hitting multiple elites with this effect as it passes through waves of them to target one, allows my literal full tank no damage besides the dog survivability Arbite to functionally solo Havoc 40, as you just turtle behind the shield and weight for everything to die to bleed. Waiting for ONE thing to die while CCing everything it passes through? Rather strong but I say rather potent, you got Remote Detonation if you want everything to die. Literally kill everything with Bleed while AFK? a problem, and if you don’t think so then please just continue playing Mortis Trials and stop trying to neuter the rest of the game the rest of us enjoy and were enjoying for the past 3+ years.

And Concussive is just something that shouldn’t exist. I know it’s fun to have all the stagger talents mean something for more than just bosses, but the entire class shoves things over just fine on it’s own. Getting to completely ignore puss hardened skin/all the things in Havoc that make things unstaggerable is an effect (again) that shouldn’t have left Mortis Trials. It fundamentally trivializes the game even harder given the whole point of stagger talents is that they are overly potent BECAUSE they tend to only effect a target either when it’s already basically dead, or something you actively CC’d with some other ability. Getting to have that effect instantly on hit is ridiculous, and I feel most of the reason Arbite feels so ‘boring’/brain dead to play beyond the dog. When you can activate 4+ talents plus blessing just for light attacking a targets head once, the stagger system might as well be deleted, because everything dies before it even has the chance to fall over.

I feel everything else can be gauged/wittled down or up after these are dealt with, but these two things HAVE to be dealt with, or else the game just stops being a game where skill expression matters and just becomes another arcade shooter. And there are a vast amount better ones of those out there. The only thing this game has is it’s melee system and it’s encouragement for people to actually ‘be good’, without either, it’s just another drop in the ‘stale free to win FPS shooter’ genre.

“Dog is OP” (outside of the bleed explosion bug that had to be fixed and questionable interaction with the Razor jaw applying bleed to everything hit) is a literal sedition/whiny elitist with baby duck syndrome take. Fellas unironically think that disabling one non-ogryn elite/special at the time is gamebreaking and saving the player from the hound is OP, because nothing else apparently can shoot of the hound (it is a forgotten knowledge).

There are some talents and weapons (solo maul, toughness regen from light attack spam and concussive cough) that need to be tuned down/reworked, but the “ARBITRATOR IS EZ MODE CASULS RUINED THE GAME” hysteria is so comically overblown it’s honestly pathetic.

The dog is in need of some serious buffs. by the time the dog has a gunner or elite killed i have killed 10 atleast. People saying Razor Jaw is a problem are 10/10 ragebaiting cause it is currently a wasted talent point. (talking about havoc)
