This new layout has fewer grid points than previous ones, and there’s two nodes that we’re trying something different with! Grid Point Alpha has a single Scavenge Zone to go through, so it’s a more contained Expedition.
Grid Point Beta is unlocked by extracting from Grid Point Alpha with a sufficiently high amount of Tech-Remnants in a single Expedition. In turn, Node Beta is a much more intense Expedition that will test the mettle of all but the toughest members of the Warband!
I only miss like.. 6 nodes to unlock for that penance. I really hope this little change isn’t going to make things more miserable than it already is playing Expeditions. Like, I only play the Grid Point that has no time limit. The time limit sucks.
It was great to have Ransacked Routes on the mission board for a while. I’m disappointed that it was apparently removed with this update. Any chance we could get this permanently added to the mission modifier pool?
Just hope fatshark doesn’t plan on introducing any new game modes in the future, expeditions wasn’t that great and its fine just take the L and move on. Focus on the main board pleeeeease
when it was released i really tried to get into that mode, but seeing how completely different the pace is there (and messes with the flow of the “real maps” as you get used to it) i rather stay sharp for havoc and don’t deviate from that playstyle.
likewise when set my mind to one game i don’t play anything “slower” for an extended period as it “dumbs the mouse”
We want ransacked routes back!
We want ransacked routes back!
We want ransacked routes back!
We want ransacked routes back!
We want ransacked routes back!
Nobody cares for expeditions at this point, half the time you can’t even fill the full lobby!
You abandoned the gamemode by making no changes to gameplay loop for months, it’s boring to play almost the same map and do servo skull puzzles 20x times in a row!
Cutting the map from 6 to 4 nodes is so far from the main pain points of the game mode. I can’t find full teams for it, and 2 extra nodes on the map was not the reason for the low engagement.
You should close this pathetic game mode.
Just wrap it up with some unique event: a Valkyrie delivers some archeotech mega-boom-bomb that crashes down and completely obliterates all of these cringe wastes.
It was good. I found a team, unlocked all areas in 2 games (α and β), and had fun.
Alpha is a great addition. Salvage is replaced by supplies, we cleared the map in 10 minutes (by splitting up) then proceeded to evac. We got a packmaster and two captains there. I’d say it’s a good way of playing a shorter map, a bit like train. I think this modifier should always be there.
@FatsharkQuickpaw In short, these are good changes. The core issue (why play this over a regular mission, when doing these puzzles is kinda boring) is still there. I think it’s easier to circumvent this with a premade - just ignore the puzzles if you want - but hard to get randoms on the same lenght. Some people hate the timer and wanna do the longer map. Some (me included) actually prefer the short missions and even kinda like the timer, some just care about salvage or remnants.
I hope I’m not pissing anyone off by saying that I believe the corruption mechanics changes were done with expeditions in mind (to make the radiation count real) so I think FS is commited to making this a part of the experience.
I’m not sure what I’d recommend, other than maybe using these assets to do a story mission or two outside Atoma.
Absolutely. They keep wasting resources on this trash when all we want are more regular missions and MODIFIERS.
The ability to CHOOSE which missions and modifiers are obviously beyond Fatsharks skill level as they keep refusing to give us what we keep asking for.
