I keep clicking “like”, but the little box never increments further.

I say ditch Uncanny Strikes, any Rending or Brittleness blessings, and make the Plasma Gun blow up if you left-click while it’s drawn. Just to start with.

I love Vermintide 2 as the next guy but elites in that game aren’t really that threating either. They don’t start becoming threating until Cata+ or modded difficulties. Even then Battle wizard, Overclock Engineer, or Necromancer just delete armor patrols easily. Bonus points if you have an Ironbreaker with a trollpedo and just sits comfily with the elites.

Mostly agree. The elites are extremely threatening on paper - much more so than those of VT2 have ever been - but they are being absolutely leveled by the combined overabundance of extreme DPS (Duelling Sword, Infernus Staff, Plasma Gun etc.) and hard crowd control (Voice of Command, Voidblast Staff, Smite, Indomitable, Rumbler etc.), and those are a direct result of rampant power creep.

There is no good recipe for that aside from not letting it happen in the first place - something we’re way past. The next, least bad solution is to nerf all those outliers and bring the players’ power level back into a certain range.

Unfortunately, the dev team seems to be a headless chicken in this regard as they settled on the third, perhaps worst option - buff everything into stratosphere, both players and enemies. Even aside from the damage to core gameplay it causes, it can only be sustained for so long - and given how everything tends to break down at high Havocs, I can confidently say we’ve approached that point.

Yup, the lazy easy option.

Wonderfully said.

they actually nerfed the elites since they lost some of their moves. maulers and stormvermin both had their own forms of homing attacks besides overheads. the jousting halberd stabs from a column of 20ish stormvermin was deadlier than any of their other attacks, and they’d be hot on your heels the entire time kiting them. maulers had a sweep that was easier to dodge. chaos warriors had 2 forms of punish attacks for being close, while crushers only inherited their punch which is also noticeably slower than the sucker chaos warriors would throw. and the difference between the flurry speed on plague monks and ragers here is huge, imagine if you only had to deal with 2 rotblood savages and 1 was just slightly faster than the other. that’s both types of ragers here.

bulwarks are infinitely more annoying than stormvermin with shields, though.

I, for a change, am pleased with general direction of the balance. The game is called Darktide, not Darkelite, for a reason. While there are some things that should be fixed, DS for example, direction of whops-5-hundreds-ragers is good.

Yeah overlapping bulwark shields are just fubar. Shield bash is also pretty annoying.

So that is why armour is non-existent in the game, DS is a OP BS s**t show, monstrosities go down quicker than crack addict for easy money? To but a few of the glaring problems.

There is almost nothing that is correctly balanced in this game.
