Sorry to hear about your crashes. Based on the information in the logs, it appears your Intel(R) UHD Graphics is set as your primary GPU, as opposed to your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050.

This is consequently resulting in your crashes, as your primary GPU cannot handle the demand. Please see below for our solutions for this problem:

  1. Right-click the desktop and select the ‘NVIDIA Control Panel’
  2. Navigate to ‘Manage 3D Settings’ > ‘Program Settings’
  3. Locate Steam within the list of programs
  4. Within the ‘Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:’ dropdown, choose the NVIDIA GPU
  5. Then locate Vermintide 2 within the list of programs, and repeat the above step
  • For Windows 10 users:
  1. Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ > ‘Display’
  2. Select ‘Graphics Settings’
  3. Select the ‘Browse’ button and locate the Vermintide 2 executable (Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries)
  4. Select the ‘Options’ button
  5. Choose ‘High performance’ and save your changes
  • For ASUS Notebook users:
  1. Please refer to: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1038387/

Perfect, thank you so much for the information, I will make the changes and I will test the game to see how it goes

So a little update here, I made all the changes, clean re installation for Nvidia drives, I set up in settings in the Display area for High performance with the RTX, and I changed in the Nvidia app to choose the NVIDIA GPU for the Steam app, vermintide and in general to always use that, but I was still having the issue, I rebooted my system, I also reinstalled Vermintide, even changed to medium my settings, but I was still having the same error message, I also lowered the Worker Threads from 13 to only 6 (I saw a post where you guys were recomending that) but nothing was working, until I decided to change from DX12 to DX11, and I played several games with no issues, I dont know what causes that issue, but it seems that the solution for now is to use DX11

Hey, I have the same problem and I think it’s began to happen after latest Nvidia drivers update,as I was playing with no problems on DX12 before. Nothing works beside changing DX12 to DX11. It worksaround the problem, but sadly performance (for me at least) is worse than at DX12 so I really hope and look forward to a solution. Same Error message btw too.

Hi both, we’ve since discovered that the newest NVIDIA driver (576.40) is causing issues for some players, and we’re in communication with NVIDIA about this.

With this in mind, you may wish to revert to an older driver version. This has alleviated the crashes immediately for many.

We have a post dedicated to this issue in the Darktide section (as this issue is impacting both Vermintide 2 and Darktide), where we’ll be sure to share any updates we receive from NVIDIA: KNOWN ISSUE: Crashing After Installing Latest NVIDIA Driver (576.40)

In addition, we’re recommending that anybody experiencing issues with this driver shares their experience with NVIDIA, to help bring attention to the issue. You can do that here: GeForce GRD 576.40 Feedback Thread (Released 5/12/25)
