Difficulty requirement removal behaves strangely

Issue Type (Required):

Matchmaking

Issue Description (Required):

Hi, we’ve been playing with a new player yesterday and none of us were able to actually host a game above veteran, although the person that was causing the issue could.

The new person has started playing after the patch that changed this I believe, based on what he told us. Also I think he managed to go above the 200 power requirement threshold for a higher difficulty during the play session, but even then nothing has changed. I can not guarantee he has equipped all the items to be above the threshold - I trust that you can see that in the log to confirm?

We tried later on restarting and a different host and the issue persisted. The new player “mandudecrazy” has a family share steam library from his brother apparently, if it’s in any shape relevant.

Sorry if I missed something somewhere but I didn’t find anything related to this posted.

The steamID links for all the players involved if needed:

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

  1. have a player that does not meet the old hero power requirement barriers in the lobby
  2. The host and the other clients that do meet the old requirements are not allowed to actually host a higher difficulty game
  3. the person that does not meet the requirements is allowed to

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

@Foctopus, I queried this and was told that the regular old rules of requiring hero power are used unless ‘private game’ is selected - which is intentional. Could this have been why?

Honestly? Could be. Sorry.

In the video it was unchecked, but I am pretty sure we were trying both as it wasn’t working and odix(host) was trying to host private as I was finishing up a game prior to that and managed to finish up before they started.

I’ll try again the next time he comes on and we play, can not confirm, might’ve been the case and we were all just being kind of special. B)

No worries! Best case scenario would be that it’s the private game setting and not a bizarre underlying issue/bug

Please let me know if you run into any issue next time!
