How is it that a game from a studio of your experience suffers from such basic failures when it comes to visuals AND audio?

I would imagine most gaming monitors use 8-bit, 10-bit panels these days. That is 16.7 million, and over 1 BILLION colours respectively. How about you USE those, Fatshark?

Not everything has to be brown upon brown, beige and grey. You are supposed to be one o the best creative minds of the gaming industry in Europe. I would imagine broken audio, visual clutter and poor visual clarity are quite important concerns from the gameplay perspective?

Visual filter for both the last wound AND psyker peril states just show you do not design your games from perspective of gameplay experience enough. Special and elite enemies just blend in with everything as it is, you don’t even need to be at the last wound not to notice them.

Surel, this could have been addressed, with something as simple as florescent markings, shinnying eyes, and / or proper backlighting behind enemies in dark spaces. A similar technique has been used by DICE in Battlefield games. Especially these days when every dev studio uses upscaling tech such as DLSS/FSR as a crutch, and an excuse not to optimise their games?

I’ll be totally honest, I both see him easily and hear him even in this crusty bitrate-suffering video.

I think it’s fine if the game is atmospheric and enemies aren’t highlighted.

I couldn’t find him in picture till watched video. Well at least you could hear him.

I have a clip where I was surrounded and killed by an invisible horde. But I’m ok with that, still more annoyed at trappers shooting through hoards or corners

wait, you get notifications in top left corner for when things spawn into the map? Is that a mod?

If Fatshark ever makes audio cue triggers actually trigger audio correctly for all specials or even bosses (who doesn’t love their a55 grabbed by a silent Chaos Spawn?) then there will be less need for workarounds like this.

Small correction: These enemies are called Reapers and not Rippers. A small oversight on your part, but I very much agree with you, and I even made a post talking about it here.
