Dear Fatshark: Coherency toughness regeneration obviously needs a rework at this point. Making it better is actually quite simple. Here's how!

In this post I’m going to explain how coherency toughness regeneration could be reworked into a functioning mechanic that fits into the design of the game seamlessly. If you are reading this, don’t know how coherency regen works and are curious then you can watch this video for mechanical context: https://youtu.be/CeXOMrKRGU0

Coherency regen should no longer be interrupted by enemies targeting you in melee; only by actually being hit by the enemy attacks (even if you block it).

Coherency regen should be changed to a percentage like the rest of the toughness replenishment in the game so that it can actually scale on your maximum toughness investments. This would mean, depending on your coherency count, you replenish 0%/3%/5%/7% toughness per second from it by default.

Considering the above conceptual changes, the default regen delay after being hit should be 5 seconds. This would all so far be very similar to the newly reworked veteran talent Catch a Breath.

If coherency regen is now viable in melee, then the zealot and ogryn talents should be changed to more appropriately interact with it. The talents Lynchpin and fortitude in Fellowship could be changed to instead prevent blocked attacks from interrupting coherency regen. This would open up a more vanguard oriented play-style that can benefit from the mechanic.

Since coherency regen would be increased by toughness modifiers now and the delay would be longer perhaps the curio perks could be changed to better fit the new system as well. Currently having 90% (3 curios) toughness regen speed on curios multiplies coherency regen by x1.9 and divides the delay by /1.9. I’d suggesting making the curios no longer increase the regen rate, but reduce the regen delay by a lot more.

So what you’re saying is that the current meta of moving fast and dodging becomes even stronger

That is not the intent of making coherency regen a viable mechanic, but that could very well be a possible outcome. The high mobility meta in general is very dumb and I’m genuinely confused why higher end mobility weapons haven’t already been nerfed ages ago.
