I think having the vermintide 2 bot system for darktide would be fun. Instead of having all veterans as bots i can fight along side the classes of my choice that replicate my builds for them. That was really fun in vermintide 2, it was like building your own squad.
Yep, agreed. This is is top of my “must have updates" list. Bringing parity to VT2 in this manner is a necessity for this game. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy speed running missions with random people as much as the next guy, but sometimes I just want to turn the game down to Uprising, and bimble through the levels and admire the artwork. Doing so with my own characters as bots would create a a lovely narrative experience currently not available in Darktide, but is in VT2.
Almost everyone agrees OP.
Oh, but didn’t you get the memo from Fatshark?
“It’S a CoOp GaMe!! YoU cAn’T pLaY wItH bOtS! ReEeEeEe!!!”
Seriously, we’ve wanted better bots (and a way to play solo with them like in every other goddamn game in the horde shooter/slasher genre) and Fatshark keeps telling us to go suck eggs and cry harder. They literally don’t give a crap and it’s been over 3 years since we were promised we’d be able to play solo w/ bots.
The worst part? The freaking tutorial mission uses bots for other classes. But we get 3 crappy vets who barely function, all because Fatshark is so gung-ho about “Multiplayer only” mindset that anyone else can get screwed. Emperor forbid you try to play the game on off hours or in a duo/trio and are forced to play with these bots, that’s the “Multiplayer Only” Darktide Experience baby
At the very least, have them have weapon level equivalents to what the host’s level is.
Shouldn’t be put in a level 30 mission with a bunch of bots who have the default lvl 1 weapons that do absolutely no damage.
Settings - > Choose Bot Classes - > Then Bots equip current class loadouts.
That would be great. Bot Classes are determined by the first player to join the mission.
Man, I really want to see my own gaggle of rejects interacting with each other instead of oops all veterans. Then there’s them slapping at crushers with heavy sword light attacks…
Fatshark did good with Vermintide 2 and they can’t blame Darktide’s instability anymore. What’s the excuse now? Blinkered business strategy, risk aversion?
Whoa whoa whoa what are you doing mate? Making sense? On xmas evening? Really? In front of my 3 lvl 1 guardsmen with random trash gear? ![]()
