Daemonhosts being pulled without being near them!

Issue Type (Required):

Enemy Mechanics

Issue Description (Required):

Only happening since latest patch, but have had 3 games in a row on myself and another zealot mid match-
The witchy beast suddenly gets provoked and telecharges to somebody nowhere near them. Not from a rogue shot fired, but sometimes through a wall and last match our zealot pulled one down the end of a road we were all clear of. I’ve only noticed it happening to zealots, dunno if related.

Yeah this has happened to me a couple of times recently too. Wasn’t anywhere near DH and was even facing the other way. Still came after me. Playing as ogryn, not zealot.

The Daemon Host can hear your thoughts. Free your mind and you will pass safely.

Turn off your torch. Don’t shoot near an aggro’d witch for any reason. And whatever you do, don’t open the trapdoor.

Was in melee for mine and didn’t have a torch.
But thankyou for the trapdoor.

You’re welcome

Genuinely a classic from the UK 80s.
I’ve no doubt you’re right about what you say, it really was just an excuse to drop in that TV show.

We had a period, I’m going to guess at around March 2023 where daemonhosts seemed to spawn on you, but I’m confident those days have gone as exciting as they were. I suspect in your case, you/your mate caused the initial aggro (and got a +aggro score), then someone else triggered it, but they didn’t have the higher aggro score. Purely hypothetical, but likely how FS decide who gets attacked.

You can aggro a DH with abilities that go through walls. Ogryn’s taunt for instance can trigger it through walls and especially from above. It’s basically a sphere around him. Had this happen on the second floor in the beginning of one of the assassination maps. it had spawned in front of the medicae and I managed to taunt her from the level above as we did the event.
