Crashing every ten minutes

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - During Play

Issue Description (Required):

I have a brand-new PC and have been playing the game without issue for about three weeks now. Suddenly, in the last three days, I am unable to complete a single mission because it crashes to my home screen or just goes black every ten minutes when I’m in a mission. I’ve tried every fix I could find in the guides you provided and outside. I’ve reset my caches, uninstalled the game, uninstalled and reinstalled my game drivers (including trying an older version), verified the files in steam and at this point I’m at a loss for what to do now. I’ll post a link to all the crashes that I’ve had, just today, down below. If anyone can provide me some insight on why this is happening or how to fix the problem that would be great. Thanks.

This appears to be an issue with the Visual C++ Redistributables. You should be able to solve this by:

  1. Uninstall the Visual C++ 2019 Redistributables
  2. Reinstall the Visual C++ 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 Redistributables: Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn
  • You may be prompted with an option to repair, as opposed to install. In which case, you may proceed with the option to repair

Just tried it and attempted a few games to see if it worked. Had the same type of crash happen three times in a row, so I don’t think it is the main issue. I downloaded the x64 and x86 but the ARM64 said it wasn’t compatible. Should I delete all the previous versions of the C++ from 2013 down or is there another problem?

No need to remove 2013 and older. I’m surprised that didn’t solve it, could you please upload your most recent console logs (as opposed to your dumps) please? :slight_smile:

Sorry about that. Here’s the logs.

Hm, it is a bit of a shot in the dark admittedly, but it’s quick and easy - could you try disabling Portrait Rendering, if you haven’t already?:

  1. Open ‘Settings’
  2. Navigate to ‘Interface’
  3. Scroll down to ‘Enable Portrait Rendering’
  4. Select ‘Off’

I turned off the portraits, and while it did give me some more time, I still crashed a near the end of the mission. I would really like this to not be an issue with any of my parts considering my computer is barely four weeks old at this point and has good parts that should be able to handle this game with little issue. Not sure if it is of any use to know, but sometimes bad crashes make my driver pop up a time out error.

Good news, I think I found the problem. Turning on power saver mode and limiting my frames seems to have created a much more stable experience. I can run at a capped 90 just fine so far. After three games I haven’t experienced a crash yet, so it was most likely a power draw problem from my equipment. If anyone out there has the AMD adrenaline and is experiencing crashes, try setting the game performance to energy efficient.

Phew! Thank you for taking the time to update us!
