Crash on start up: deadlock while waiting on 'main'

double click shortcut, hangs on a black screen until CTD, then crash box pops up.

tried verifying steam files, uninstall and reinstall. crashes do not seem related to having mods or file settings adjusted.

the only thing that has seemed to work is an anecdotal piece of advice i found online: opening up my PC and dusting it. but, i just did that a night ago, which worked, and now it’s back to crashing on start up. I don’t want to have to open up my rig every time I want to play this game.

I’ll include my specs here if relevant, but after 200 hours I’m not sure it’s a hardware problem. thanks

EDIT: Ok I uninstalled one more time and now it is working again. I’ll edit this post again when it begins to resume crashing on start up.

me again. might be it’s fixed now.

I fed chatgpt the console log and it said the deadlock is happening because i have steam input enabled while DSX is active and using a dual sense edge controller. i disabled steam input and it didn’t trigger the deadlock.

will report back if it starts up again. i should have mentioned initially that I’m running DSX, but it slipped my mind
